A Seattle Icon Turns 20: Palisade Celebrates Two Decades of Spectacular Dining

For 20 years, Palisade has delivered the perfect balance of flavor, aesthetic and hospitality to the Seattle dining community. The landmark Northwest restaurant owned and operated by Restaurants Unlimited, Inc., is celebrating many years of making memories and magic with an enhanced dinner menu, new raw bar, perfectly-priced happy hour, business lunch options and elegantly refreshed décor.

“During the last 20 years, Seattleites have made Palisade a place to dine for special occasions, and we continue to be known for our celebratory touches,” said Doug Zellers, General Manager of Palisade. “But now we’ve made our dining more accessible to everyone. We have added a new range of menu dishes and prices while also simplifying our food philosophy to focus on the inherent flavors of our ingredients.”

The spacious location was built in 1992 in the secluded Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle, overlooking Elliott Bay. With panoramic views of the harbor, salty sea and Olympic Mountains, Palisade has become an iconic mainstay in Seattle’s dining scene. Recently undergoing aesthetic renovations, the restaurant has a newly refreshed interior that reflects the restaurant’s natural dining philosophy. While signature décor — such as the indoor waterfall and piano bar — has remained the same, guests will take note of complementary updates, such as the fresh color palette, introduction of a raw bar, and new tables and chairs.

Also refreshed is the Palisade dinner menu, and a new range of offerings will soon be introduced to the lunch, happy hour and bar menus. Created by Executive Chef Ryan O’Brien, the entrées, appetizers, salads and desserts bring together a selection of decadent and lighter fare, all paying tribute to the restaurant’s subtle Asian influences. The delicious and affordable Magnolia Lunch is a favorite for business diners: a $16 three-course meal that includes a choice of soup or salad, entrée and dessert.

“At Palisade, we focus on simple, artful food preparation and eye-catching presentation,” said O’Brien. Signature dishes have done away with heavy sauces and complicated preparations in favor of balanced pairings that let the true natural flavors of each ingredient shine:

  • New York Strip with Rogue River Oregonzola
A perfectly marbled New York Strip steak with Rogue River Oregonzola accents is paired with roasted Yukon Gold potatoes, heirloom tomatoes, burrata, fresh basil and a 30-year balsamic dressing.
  • Seared Sea Scallops
Sweet seared sea scallops are paired with a lobster risotto, roasted wild mushrooms, pistachio-basil pesto and pea shoots.
  • Spiced Banana Ice Cream Sundae
Tuaca-vanilla bean caramel, almond brittle and caramelized bananas atop a tulip-shaped sundae glass of satisfying Olympic Mountain ice cream.
