Arooga’s Teams Up with Ace Distributing, Wilsbach Distributors, Inc., and All Star Distributing for the Cause; $1 From Every “Illusive Traveler” Pint Sold During the Month Will Benefit Prostate Cancer Awareness
Arooga’s knows great beer and is going to use one of its guests’ favorites to help educate Central Pennsylvania about prostate cancer.
Through “Pints for Prostates,” the region’s favorite sports bar is hosting a month-long fundraiser beginning November 1 to benefit The PA Prostate Cancer Coalition, which was organized in 1999 to make prostate cancer a key public health care priority in Pennsylvania – with more than 12,000 men diagnosed every year in Pennsylvania. In partnership with Ace Distributing, Wilsbach Distributors, Inc. and All Star Distributing, Arooga’s will donate $1 from every “Illusive Traveler” pint sold at all 10 of its Pennsylvania locations for the entire month of November.
“We’re thrilled to spearhead this campaign in support of such a great cause,” said Gary Huether, Jr., co-founder and president of Arooga’s. “There’s no better way to raise awareness for this serious men’s issue then to connect the fundraiser to things that men appreciate the most; great beer and an awesome place to watch sports.”
“We are so grateful to Arooga’s, Wilsbach, All Star, and Ace for helping to make this promotion happen,” said Kristine Warner, Executive Director, PA Prostate Cancer Coalition. “The PA Prostate Cancer Coalition seeks out men in their natural habitats to spread prostate cancer awareness, and Arooga’s certainly fits that bill! This is our first month-long Novem/BEER celebration to educate men about important prostate cancer facts, such as family history being a significant risk factor.”
“After seeing the incredible results from the other charitable programs we have partnered with Arooga’s on in the past, we knew we wanted to get involved with this program as well to help bring some awareness to men’s health issues and raise money for a great cause,” said Jess Horn, Craft Brand Manager, Wilsbach Distributors Inc.
“Ace Distributing is pleased to work together with Arooga’s, Wilsbach Distributors & Traveler Beer Company, three truly great community partners, to raise necessary funds for PA Prostate Cancer Coalition. Ace prides itself in being a strong community member, but only with great partners, can we achieve our goals in the community,” said Nate Fochtman, Vice President of Craft & Business Development, Ace Distributing.

The PA Prostate Cancer Coalition is a 501c3 non-profit organization, and we put all of our blood, sweat and tears into educating men about prostate cancer and prostate health. We’ve lost far too many fathers, brothers, and husbands to prostate cancer, and it’s time to fight back. We’re fighting the good fight. We’re finding men in their natural habitats—sporting events, golf clubs, breweries, outdoor shows. Join our coalition of survivors, families, urologists, nurses, athletes, brewmasters, and regular people who are raising the profile of prostate cancer and men’s health.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Did you know that almost as many men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in a year as women are with breast cancer? The mortality rates are similar, too. Luckily, prostate cancer is very treatable when found early. Wilsbach began operation in 1933 in a small garage in uptown Harrisburg with Ballantine and Anheuser-Busch Inc as the first two suppliers. Realizing the need for more space, a new warehouse was built on 7th Street in Harrisburg. As suppliers were added and sales increased – it was time to build again. In 1972, Wilsbach Distributors, Inc. moved to Linglestown Road outside Harrisburg and remained there until 1999. In 1999, Wilsbach built their current location – an 80,000 sq ft facility in Harrisburg off I-83 in Susquehanna Township. The Sourbeer Family purchased the business in 1988 and continues to run the business today. Under their tutelage, Wilsbach has become Central Pennsylvania’s #1 malt beverage distributor with a portfolio that now includes 31 of the finest Domestic, Import and Craft suppliers from around the World.
Ace Distributing was founded in 1948 by Jimmie and Nick Spagnola, currently owned by Jeff Reeder and Tim Strickler since 1988. Throughout the years the company has expanded its distribution opportunities and portfolio of brands, spreading across six counties in South Central Pennsylvania and representing over sixty-four breweries from the United States and globally. Ace Distributing has been recently recognized nationally for their market strategy with a 2014 & 2013 Craft Beer Distributor of the Year nomination by the Brewer’s Association & National Beer Wholesalers Association, as well as Beverage Trade Network’s “2014 Leading Craft Beer Distributors in the USA.” For more information, contact press contact Nate Fochtman, Vice President Craft & Business Development, 215-253-9180, email@example.com.
All Star Distributing was started in 1975 by Bill Knauer as a small beer wholesale business. As the years progressed, our business grew as we purchased fragmented brands from smaller wholesalers. In 1988 All Star scored a much sought-after brand — Coors Brewing, and things began to change. In 2001, the business was purchased by the McGlinn family. They pushed All Star’s sales to new highs in case sales and expanded the territory it serves in Southeast and Central Pennsylvania. This growth enabled us to move in 2003 from our Commerce Road facility to a new 105,000 square foot facility on Patriot Parkway in Berks County. For the next 12 years, the company saw incredible growth and development and in 2013, All Star Distributing was purchased by Origlio Beverage, a beer wholesaler from the Philadelphia area. Becoming part of Origlio had huge benefits for All Star. Updated software for logistics, sales, and operations have given the company an edge in the industry. The knowledge and service Origlio has brought to All Star in unparalleled. In late 2014, additions to the building were finished. Over 176,000 square feet were added for warehouse, point of sale, and office space. Today, All Star proudly serves nearly 700 brands to Lancaster, Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties.
