Arooga's Grille House & Sports Bar to Host 'Running for Rachel' Party with the Hershey BearsWHO/WHAT:

Arooga’s is hosting a fundraising party like only Arooga’s can. In partnership with the Hershey Bears and in support of “Running for Rachel,” each of the participating Arooga’s locations will host a meet and greet with select Hershey Bears’ players featuring autograph signing and a silent auction and buy-one-get-one (BOGO) Hershey Bears game ticket voucher giveaway with donations to the charity (while supplies last). Arooga’s raised more than $6000 last year and hopes to surpass that this year.

BACKSTORY:

In November 2011, beloved community member and college student Rachel Guss passed away from duodenal cancer, a rare form of the disease which is extremely difficult to treat. Since then, her family and friends have continued on a mission to raise awareness and funds for gastrointestinal cancer research. On Sunday, April 24, 2016 runners and walkers are invited to join at City Island in Harrisburg to continue Rachel’s fight against cancer and honor her memory at the 5th annual Running for Rachel 5K Walk/Run.

Prior to that and in support of the charity close to the hearts of the Arooga’s family, six of the Harrisburg-based award-winning casual dining restaurants will host a ‘Running for Rachel’ region-wide fundraising party event in partnership with the Hershey Bears.
