Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Signs Five-Year Foodservice Distribution Agreement With Sysco

Beef ‘O’ Brady’s announced today that it has signed a five-year agreement with Sysco Corporation, the global leader in food distribution, as its primary food distributor. Beginning in March 2012, Sysco will serve 185 Beef ‘O’ Brady’s locations in the United States.

Although the agreement has not been implemented system-wide, Beef’s anticipates the partnership will produce better product supply chain efficiency and greater consistency among its stores, which now operate in 22 states.

“As Beef ‘O’ Brady’s continues to develop throughout North America and ultimately internationally, the collaborative effort will undoubtedly optimize each brand’s strengths and effectiveness,” said Chris Elliot, CEO of Beef ‘O’ Brady’s. “We have entered a vital turning point in our operations as we look toward expanding throughout the United States and beyond. Our partnership with Sysco in anticipation of that growth is most certainly a step in the right direction.”

In 2011 alone, Beef ‘O’ Brady’s opened more than 10 restaurants and signed agreements with franchise partners to open approximately 20 more.  The Tampa-based franchise also earned a myriad of company milestones in 2011 by openings its first restaurant west of the Rocky Mountains in Meridian, Idaho, and signing franchise agreements in both California and Arizona.  Executives with the company anticipate another banner year in 2012, projecting 25-plus restaurant openings, including openings in new international markets.

Sysco currently accounts for North America’s largest distribution platform. The corporation is a global leader in marketing and distribution of food products to restaurants, hotels, healthcare and educational facilities, and other foodservice operators.

“We are pleased to partner with Beef ‘O’ Brady’s as its primary food distributor,” said Dick Abbey, vice president of Contract Sales at Sysco. “Beef’s is a well-established restaurant chain, and our key strategic objectives are in line with one another. Sysco is committed to help Beef’s grow its business over the next five years and beyond.”
