20% of designated bills on May 25 to be donated to Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes

BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse To Raise Funds For Wounded VeteransAs a prelude to the Memorial Day Weekend, five BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse locations across the nation are hosting fundraisers in support of our military veterans.

On Thursday, May 25, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., participating BJ’s will donate a portion of their sales to the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes, a leading not-for-profit organization dedicated to rebuilding the lives of severely wounded veterans of the global War on Terror. Guests who bring in a digital or printed flier available on the Coalition’s Facebook page will have 20 percent* of their food and soft-beverage bill donated to the Coalition.

“We at BJs are honored to support the Coalition’s work in providing emergency financial assistance to returning combat-wounded and disabled veterans and their families,” said Angel J. Mejia, Director of Operations for BJ’s Restaurants, Inc. “We are proud to have many BJ’s team members and managers who have served in our Armed Forces, and we are grateful to them for their service and to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.”

Tucson, AZ: 5510 East Broadway Blvd.

Fort Worth, TX: 9401 Sage Meadow Trail

San Antonio, TX: 5447 W. Loop 1604 North

“BJ’s is a favorite of our family, and if you’ve ever been, you understand why,” said Donny Daughenbaugh, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret.) and Vice President of Field Operations for the Coalition. “We’re honored that several of their restaurants are generously supporting the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes on Thursday, and we hope folks will come out in droves to enjoy a great meal and support my fellow combat-wounded veterans. Just be sure to bring along the flier!”

Since its establishment in 2004, the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes has provided an immediate, invaluable lifeline to thousands of America’s combat-wounded veterans. The Leesburg, VA-based organization is distinguished from other veteran-focused groups by its direct financial assistance to America’s wounded heroes. Its Emergency Financial Aid program has stopped foreclosure proceedings on veterans’ homes and kept their vehicles from being repossessed. Its innovative Heroes Thanking Heroes program provides transitional, part-time, flexible employment to nearly 50 combat-wounded veterans or their primary caregivers, enabling them to make phone calls from their homes, usually to personally thank donors for their contributions to the Coalition.

Combat-wounded/disabled OIF/OEF/OND veterans are invited to join the Coalition and expand their camaraderie network by enrolling in the Veteran Circle program at http://saluteheroes-vetcircle.org.
