Evan Kent has joined Brixx Wood Fired Pizza as director of social media, where he’ll be responsible for Brixx’s funny, creative, pizzalicious social media content.
It’s a big responsibility, to be sure, but Kent has stepped into the limelight before. Locals in his hometown of Charlotte know Kent as one of the masterminds behind the “Bring Back The Buzz” grassroots campaign to restore the Charlotte Hornets name to the city’s NBA team, then called the Charlotte Bobcats. Kent’s enthusiastic tweets, posts, and events got Charlotteans fired up and today, that team is named the Charlotte Hornets once more.
That’s only the beginning of Kent’s social savvy. Kent helped develop Play Charlotte, a business devoted to creating live and social events partnering professional sports with restaurants. He previously worked for Sports Business Journal and Socialtopia, a mobile app design and development firm.
Now Kent is a force for promoting all the tasty goodness that lies beyond the doors of Brixx’s 33 locations. Brixx specializes in pizza topped with a wide array of fresh ingredients and cooked in a wood burning oven to infuse them with the natural flavors of the wood.
The menu also features salads, pastas and sandwiches complemented by 24 craft beers on tap, 14 wines by the glass and cocktails. The foundation of the Brixx menu – from its traditional and whole wheat dough to meatballs, hummus, bruschetta, focaccia bread and more – is made from scratch every morning on location. The traditional and whole wheat doughs at Brixx are made with turbinado sugar and are 100 percent vegan. Vegan cheese is available at no extra cost. The restaurant also carries gluten-free dough and gluten-free bottled beer.
