Virginia Beach, meet your new favorite spot for lunch, dinner and late night snacks.
Brixx Wood Fired Pizza has fired up the oven and is open for business in the Landstown Place Development. Brixx specializes in pizzas built on scratch made dough, topped with a wide array of fresh ingredients and cooked in a 600-degree wood burning oven to infuse them with the natural flavors of the wood. The menu also features salads, pastas and sandwiches complemented by 24 craft beers on tap, 14 wines by the glass and cocktails.
The 3,200-square-foot restaurant at 1909 Landstown Centre Way in Virginia Beach is open until 1 a.m. six nights a week. This is the first of two Brixx pizzerias coming to the Hampton Roads area.
Brixx is owned and operated by GKTH Enterprises, a team with strong roots in Virginia Beach. The ownership behind GKTH operates local Hooters restaurants and also established the 3-unit Park Lane Tavern concept. “We live in this city, we know it well, and we think people are going to love Brixx,” says Greg Knox, principal with GKTH Enterprises. “The focus at Brixx on top quality ingredients and a fun, lively atmosphere makes it the kind of place we’d want to hang out with our own family and friends.”
The signature items on the Brixx menu are made from scratch every morning, including its fresh mozzarella, hummus and focaccia. Brixx appeals to a wide array of palates and dietary needs, offering vegetarian and vegan items. The traditional and whole wheat doughs at Brixx are made with turbinado sugar and are 100 percent vegan. Vegan cheese is available at no extra cost. The restaurant also carries gluten-free dough and gluten-free bottled beer.
“We’re incredibly excited to be working with Greg and GKTH Enterprises. They are proven, talented restaurateurs,” says Neil Newcomb, principal of Brixx Franchise Systems, LLC. “They’re also committed to the community, which is a vital part of our culture.” Brixx often hosts fundraisers for local non-profit groups and schools.
Brixx offers seating for 153 guests, including an outdoor patio. It employs a staff of 55.
