Buffets, Inc. Stakes Claim to Best Steak Value

Already famous for its mouth-watering steak buffet restaurants, Buffets, Inc. has introduced the ultimate in classic steak dining:  a new, thick-cut version of its hand-cut, specially seasoned Rancher’s Select Sirloin – cut at least one-inch thick (precooked).  To celebrate, starting October 1, all of the company’s buffet brands – Ryan’s, Country Buffet, HomeTown Buffet, Old Country Buffet, Fire Mountain and Granny’s Buffet– will offer the thick-cut steak at dinner for only $9.99 for a limited time.   They’ll also be adding fluffy baked potatoes and crisp Caesar salad to the dinner menu, right alongside other classic and contemporary dinner favorites.

“We recently conducted a major insights initiative to determine which menu items are most important to our guests,” said Jason Abelkop, Chief Marketing Officer for Buffets.  “We weren’t surprised to learn that steak is important, but the value inherent in a high-quality, thick-cut steak – especially when offered at a strong value – was incredible, and a clear way to delight our guests,” he said.

In addition to the thick-cut Rancher’s Select Sirloin, guests can add to their classic steakhouse experience with a baked potato topped almost any way they like.  “Because we offer so many different types of cuisine, we have a number of delicious ways to top one of our favorite sides,” said Abelkop.   Different areas in the restaurant will prompt guests to enjoy classic (and not so classic) builds, from a classic broccoli and Cheddar build to a spicy, “south of the border” build featuring taco meat and pico de gallo.  To round out the meal, guests can enjoy a crisp Caesar salad, or any other of the restaurants’ prepared or build-your-own salads.

“The bottom line is that we want all of our guests to feel special when they dine with us, and steaks make any meal a special occasion,” Abelkop said.  “We understand that to keep our guests coming back they expect high quality, great service and a reasonable price.  That’s what we’re all about.”

The thick-cut Rancher’s Select will be available after 3:30 p.m. every night in every restaurant, seven days a week.  The $9.99 price point starts October 1 but is for a limited time.
