Seafood leader joins forces with Share Our Strength for No Kid Hungry campaign
Captain D’s, LLC, the leading fast casual seafood restaurant, announced today its participation in Share Our Strength’s Dine Out for No Kid Hungry campaign. Launching this month, Dine Out for No Kid Hungry connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to eat healthy and affordable meals, while raising national awareness of the childhood hunger epidemic that one in five children are affected by.
“Captain D’s commitment to its customers goes beyond the freshly-prepared, high-quality food we serve, as we make it a priority to provide nutritious meals for families at an affordable price,” said Phil Greifeld, Captain D’s chief executive officer. “We fully support No Kid Hungry’s mission to raise awareness about childhood hunger and look forward to uniting with other restaurants across the nation to make a difference in the communities we serve and the lives of families in need.”
From September 7 – 30, participating Captain D’s locations nationwide will be selling fundraiser cards for one dollar, inclusive of $10 worth of Captain D’s coupons providing discounts on guest favorites such as the Grilled White Fish from the grilled menu and 3D KiD’s Meals. Every dollar raised will translate into 10 meals for families in need in America. The brand ran the program at 29 restaurants in Birmingham this summer and exceeded expectations by raising more than $30,000 for No Kid Hungry. Since its launch in 2008, participating Dine Out restaurants have raised $28 million in support of No Kid Hungry to help ensure every kid gets three meals a day.
