CHART to Honor Scott Steilen, President and CEO of Sea Island, with its 2024 Commitment to People AwardThe Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) announced today that Scott Steilen, President and CEO of Sea Island, has been honored with its 2024 Commitment to People Award. This prestigious accolade recognizes Scott’s exceptional dedication to the development and well-being of his team members within the hospitality industry. Scott will be honored at the Commitment to People Dinner on Tuesday evening, August 13, during CHART’s 106th Hospitality Training Conference at the Palmer House, Chicago, IL.

He spearheaded initiatives to improve Sea Island’s culture, launching the “Great Eight” Initiative and fostering open dialogue through programs like “Coffee and Conversation with Scott.” Beyond Sea Island, Scott’s dedication to community service is exemplary. The Commitment to People Award, established in 1993, is presented annually to a CEO or President within the hospitality sector who demonstrates outstanding commitment to the growth and development of their employees.
