Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is Deepening Its Roots in the Austin Area

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is expanding its Texas reach to include more of the Austin and Bastrop areas.  The world’s largest barbecue chain has signed on two new franchise owners and is currently searching for sites.

“The Austin area continues to be a key market for our expansion plans,” said Roland Dickey, Jr., president of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “It’s a vibrant community with a lot of growth opportunity.”

Dickey’s Barbecue added over 66 stores last year and is planning to add 100 new restaurants nationwide in 2012.  The fast casual restaurant chain currently has three locations in the Austin area.

“The Dickey’s brand is well-known for great quality food at a good price point,” said Kress Childs, Dickey’s Barbecue new franchise owner. “I can’t wait to open!”

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit opened its first location in Dallas in 1941. Dickey’s began franchising in 1994 and has continued to grow across the country. Dickey’s currently has more than 200 locations in 36 states nationwide.

Dickey’s Barbecue offers a quality selection of signature meats, home style sides and tangy barbecue sauce. All meats are slow smoked on-site in each restaurant. For more information, including a full menu, other restaurant locations and franchising opportunities, please visit www.dickeys.com.
