Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants announced company-wide environmentally conscious initiatives in honor of Earth Day 2012. Starting with its signature Big Yellow Cup, which has always been eco-friendly, Dickey’s makes environmental contributions a company top priority.
“Everyone loves our souvenir Big Yellow Cup and we work hard to make sure that this household item is both high quality and recyclable,” said Roland Dickey, Jr. president of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “Our company is committed to doing our part to protect the environment through green building techniques, recycling practices and conserving resources.”
The Big Yellow Cup is recyclable both in terms of reusability and the material itself. The recognizable cup can be recycled into signal lights, brooms, brushes, ice scrapers, landscape borders, and bicycle racks.
The company’s green commitment also extends to architectural building materials. It only uses LEED certified architectural teams that are committed to eco-friendly building techniques. This building initiative is carried out at each of our 220 locations throughout the nation.
