Construction has begun at the new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Jacksonville. New owners David and Bridgette Lowe are ready to bring pit smoked barbecue to the area at their new address 9825 San Jose Blvd.
“It was important that we found a franchise that supported the military and was highly involved in local communities and charities,” said David Lowe. “Dickey’s fit our needs and we’ve had a great experience throughout the process.”
David was born in Jacksonville. He served in the United States Air Force and the Florida Air National Guard as an E-8 Senior Master Sergeant. David and his wife, Bridgette, have been married for 13 years and reside in Middleburg.
“We are extremely excited to be opening in the Jacksonville area,” said Lowe. “The community seems to be eager for our authentic mouthwatering BBQ and we can’t wait to open next month.”
The couple was originally slated to open their location in Orange Park, but instead will be opening in Jacksonville in October. Dickey’s plans on opening additional Florida locations this month in Boca Raton and Fort Myers.
