JJ's Red Hots Invites Fans to Create Their Own Hot Dog During 12 Days of Hot Dogs PromotionJJ’s Red Hots, known for its incredible ‘Dog of the Week’ creations, is letting anyone and everyone get in on the action this holiday season, as the Charlotte-based Hot Dog King is looking for the most unique Hot Dogs for it’s 2nd Annual ’12 Days of Hot Dogs’ promotion. Winners will be judged based on online and in-restaurant submissions from a provided list of toppings through December 5.

JJ’s, which has swept all of Charlotte’s Best Hot Dog awards in 2014, will then pick 12 finalists, judged on dog toppings and dog name creativity, and feature each for a day during 12 Days of Hot Dogs, beginning December 11. Each finalist will be invited to visit JJ’s to build and taste their Hot Dog. One winner, based on the most hot dogs sold for that day, will be chosen and will receive a $150 Amazon gift card.

“Who needs a partridge in a pear tree when you can create your own Hot Dog?” asked JJ’s founder Jonathan Luther. “Unless of course, you want to use partridge and pears on your own hot dog. That’s between you, the hot dog gods and the judges. This is really about fun, bragging rights and potentially finding the next great Hot Dog, which is really what JJ’s is all about.”

JJ’s, best known for its Hot Dogs but also its hand crafted artisanal sausages, house-made sides and toppings, has always encouraged fan-based recipes as part of its popular Dog of the Week program, which features specially designed and priced Hot Dogs, beginning each Monday. The promotion has been covered widely by the brand’s hometown Charlotte media and was even the subject of a USA Today article.

“You know us, we’re just having some fun and always looking for ways to get our fans involved while creating new fans as we go,” said JJ’s director of marketing and brand development Brandy Newton. “So we’re saying, ‘Wake up, be creative, design your Dog and then market the crap out of it’, all in the spirit of the holiday season.”

JJ’s Red Hots is the premier purveyor of “hand-crafted” char-grilled hot dogs and sausages in the Charlotte metropolitan area and the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. The restaurant concept is built on solid, hardworking values and is modeled after venerable establishments like Ted’s in Buffalo, NY, Gene and Jude’s in Chicago, and many others. Still, JJ’s is a true American original featuring house-made, scratch prepared sides and toppings served alongside time tested, revered American brands like Tabasco, Weber’s Mustard, Martin’s Rolls, Coca-Cola and Mt. Olive Pickles. Perhaps most proudly, JJ’s Red Hots serves smokehouse hot dogs from Sahlen’s Meat Packing Company in Buffalo, NY. Sahlen’s is a 143 year-old company that remains family owned and operated, and makes, in our opinion, the best hot dogs in the world.
