Detroit Style Pizza Co. today introduced a new menu that lets everyone get a taste of the unique dishes prepared by World Champion Pizza Maker Shawn Randazzo. Recipe highlights include the Tangy BBQ Chicken pizza, crowned world’s best at the 2012 International Pizza Expo held in Las Vegas, as well as the Chicken Caesar pizza, which took First Place in the American Pan Division. The menu also features family favorites and specialty pizzas in three different styles – Detroit, Pan and Old Forge – plus a large selection of freshly-prepared baked subs, salads, breadsticks, pastas, chicken wings and meatballs.
Detroit Style Pizza Co. places a premium on the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. The pizzeria daily shreds fresh mozzarella and brick cheeses, deli slices its own ham, cooks and crumbles its own full strip Applewood smoked bacon and Italian sausage, and adds flavorful accents with fresh basil, herbs and spices. Salads are made fresh with five star chopped Romaine lettuce and a Spring mix of the seven freshest in-season baby greens, and only the finest ingredients are used to make Detroit Style Pizza Co.’s signature red sauce and award-winning pizza dough.
“The vast majority of our ingredients are delivered to us fresh, locally from Detroit-area and Michigan producers whenever possible, and prepared in-house. They are not loaded with preservatives, they are not frozen or packaged in plastic bags, and they are not processed by machines,” said Randazzo. “Fresh ingredients release the richest flavors, and we’re proud to make delicious dishes our customers can feel good about loving to eat.”
Specialty pizzas include Margarita in the D, the Motor City Meatball, the Motown Meat Supreme, the Hawaiian Vacation and the Greektown. Pizzas are available in three different crust styles. Detroit Style pizza is a deep dish square pizza sometimes called “red top pizza” or “upside down” pizza because the red sauce is ladled on after baking. Old Forge Style is a thin crust pizza made in the tradition of Pennsylvania’s Pizza Capitol of the World. Like All Detroit Style Pizza Co. pizzas, Traditional Pan Style Round baked in bottom-fired deck ovens. Customers can choose from five Traditional Pan Style Round flavored crusts: Garlic Butter, Red Hot, Sesame Seed, Garlic Butter Romano and Italian Herb. A gluten-free pizza crust is also available.
Other Detroit Style Pizza Co. menu items include Pepperoni Rolls, Bacon and Onion Breadsticks, Cheese Breadsticks, Spaghetti, Mostaccioli, Antipasto Salad, and seven oven-baked subs including Spicy Buffalo Chicken and Hawaiian. To satisfy sweet tooths, a dessert menu features two types of Sweetsticks and three types of Cheesecake.
The new menu items can be enjoyed via carryout or delivery at Detroit Style Pizza Co.’s two Metro Detroit locations. Pizza packages can also be mail ordered to anywhere in the continental United States.
