New Dunkin' Donuts Restaurant to Open in Barstow, California

Dunkin’ Donuts, America’s all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, announced that it will open a new restaurant in Barstow at the historic Barstow Station on November 4, 2013.  This is the second Dunkin’ Donuts non-traditional location to open in the state of California. To celebrate the opening, the restaurant will give a free travel mug to the first 200 guests on opening day.

The new restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and will employ approximately 15 crew members. The restaurant will provide a welcoming environment for guests to enjoy Dunkin’ Donuts’ food and beverages in a friendly and fun atmosphere. The new restaurant in Barstow will offer Dunkin’ Donuts’ unique combination of coffee, baked goods and unique sandwiches at a great value served in a fast, friendly and convenient environment.

“Dunkin’ Donuts is one of the world’s leading brands, and we’re thrilled to open the brands’ second location in the state of California,” said Jason Duffy, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee. “We are proud to serve the people of Barstow and hope to become a popular destination for both local residents and guests traveling through the area.”

In January, Dunkin’ Donuts announced plans to enter Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, Ventura and Orange counties and has since executed franchise agreements to develop more than 70 new freestanding restaurants in these markets, which will begin opening in 2015. A franchise agreement with Embassy Suites San Diego has also been signed, and the restaurant is planned to open in the first quarter of 2014.  Last month, the company opened California’s Central Valley and the Central Coast, including Fresno, Bakersfield, Sacramento and Santa Barbara for franchise development, and is recruiting qualified multi-unit operators to open traditional and a wide range of non-traditional venues. Opportunities are also still available in Southern California.

“As we develop California, we continue to look for qualified, multi-unit franchise candidates with foodservice, operations and real estate experience who want to become part of a nationally established restaurant concept with more than 60 years of franchising experience and 95 percent brand recognition,” said Grant Benson, vice president of global franchising and business development, Dunkin’ Brands.  “Over time, Dunkin’ Donuts plans to have as many as 1,000 traditional and non-traditional restaurants throughout the state.  We look forward to making our famous beverages, baked goods and sandwiches available to an ever-growing base of customers.”
