New Fast Casual Restaurant Concept Where The Empanada Is The Star

Maria Empanada is pleased to announce the opening of its new and larger location in Denver.

Lorena Cantarovici, the founder of Maria Empanada, a former accountant and international banker who gained the love for the business of running a restaurant working for large operations such as Brinkers and Bloomin’ Brands, began the company with an eye for quick scalability since its inception.

Upon entering a Maria Empanada location, you are drawn to the displays showing a dozen different empanadas each with a unique repulgue or crimp that represents its flavor. The empanadas are warm from the oven and ready to eat. “People first eat with their eyes, so we have brought our love of food and the true artistry of empanadas and tartas so that they are on full display at our shop.” Cantarovici explains. She continues: “Today’s consumer is very hurried to eat but it is difficult to find something different that you can feel good about. Maria Empanada is my answer to this problem.”

Maria Empanada also sells Tartas, 2 inch high vegetable pies that are sold by the slice or whole as well as Spanish Tortillas, the famous potato pie made with eggs also sold in chunky wedges or purchased whole. Other products include the larger Spanish version of empanadas, the Empanada Gallega, a host of salsas for dipping and a rotation of sweets to finish out a meal.

The concept was developed to serve both lunch and dinner crowds in different ways. Getting a wholesome lunch that rivals any other concept in speed and good option to take a fully prepared meal home to the family. “The best way to order empanadas is by the dozen.” Cantarovici adds. “That along with a salad at home is a fun and economical way to feed a family with picky tastes”

Maria Empanada is having the grand opening of their Broadway location Saturday, May 10th with a full day of samples and events.
