Newk’s Eatery, a rapidly expanding fast-casual restaurant brand known for its fresh, flavorful dining, has announced Alan Wright as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Wright first joined Newk’s Eatery in March 2013 as Vice President of Marketing and most recently as Vice President of Marketing and Franchise Operations.
“Alan’s strategic eye and seasoned management have been essential to the strengthening and increased visibility of the Newk’s brand in recent years, along with our accelerated operational growth,” said Chris Newcomb, Newk’s Eatery Co-Founder and CEO. “In his new role, Alan will continue this brand momentum and provide critical vision for Newk’s future marketing initiatives.”
As Chief Marketing Officer, Alan Wright will spearhead Newk’s marketing strategy both for the brand’s company-owned restaurants and for system-wide efforts across franchise territories, driving menu innovation, boosting consumer loyalty and fortifying Newk’s brand presence across all marketing media in existing and emerging markets.
Wright first came to Newk’s with 30 years of franchising, marketing and management experience, having served in marketing leadership positions with both The Krystal Company and Hardee’s Food Systems. He has since managed the Newk’s brand as Vice President of Marketing, directing brand strategy, social media marketing, limited time offer strategies and enhanced merchandising. To support Newk’s expanded franchise operations, Wright’s position later broadened to Vice President of Marketing and Franchise Operations in which he established a network of business consultants to support Newk’s growing franchise base.
The Jackson, Miss.-based Newk’s Eatery has been named among FastCasual.com’s top 20 “Movers and Shakers” and is featured on Technomic’s list of top 50 fast-casual chains nationwide, while ranking among the top “Fast and Serious” franchise brands in Franchise Times magazine.
