Perkins Restaurant & Bakery announced today a six-unit franchise development agreement in Iowa and Nebraska over the next six years. The expanded development of the Iowa/Nebraska area by Perkins franchisee CyHawk Hospitality Inc., represents a continued commitment to introducing and delivering the Perkins experience to the Midwest market.
Industry veteran Jim Rahfaldt, a Perkins franchisee for the past 7 years, currently operates six Perkins Restaurants and Bakeries — five in Iowa and another in Independence, Missouri. He and his sons Matt and Nick just opened the first of the six additionally planned Perkins Restaurant & Bakeries in Ankeny, Iowa on July 17, 2013. Rahfaldt comments, “The community response to our Ankeny location has been outstanding with many positive comments about the new Perkins design in both the interior and exterior.”
Another location in Norfolk, Nebraska has broken ground with an anticipated opening date of September 23, 2013. Altoona, Iowa is slated for early 2014 and CyHawk Hospitality is currently looking at several different communities in Nebraska as possible locations for the remaining restaurants. Rahfaldt adds, “My association with the Perkins brand runs long and deep, and it is with great pride that I am able to enhance the dining scene in each of these markets with such a tried and true concept.”
According to Rahfaldt, the upcoming Perkins restaurants will all resemble the brand’s current prototype, which features fresh and airy dining rooms and a layout designed to seat 170 or more. Perkins’ legendary menu including breakfast items such as omelettes and buttermilk pancakes that are available all day, a full line of lunch and dinner offerings, and Perkins freshly prepared bakery products will be the mainstay of every location. A seniors’ as well as a kids’ menu will also be offered.
