Philadelphia Based Franchise Brand Created Specialty V-Shaped Pretzel in Honor of its Hometown Heroes

On April 5, 2016, the Philly Pretzel Factory location at 7366 Frankford Avenue in Mayfair, Philadelphia plans to spread its Philly pride by giving away V-shaped pretzels if Villanova is crowned the champions of the NCAA March Madness tournament.

The team at Philly Pretzel Factory created a specialty pretzel in the shape of the Villanova logo and plans to celebrate the team’s victory in classic Philly style.

“We have such pride for our hometown and are thrilled that Villanova has made it to the championship game,” said Dan DiZio, owner of the flagship Philly Pretzel Factory Mayfair location. “What better way to celebrate than with food that is synonymous with our great city? We are so ingrained in the communities we serve that it is a natural fit to want to give back to our loyal fans and to celebrate such an exciting moment for our city.”

Giving back to the community is a top priority for the Philly Pretzel Factory franchise family. Each year on National Pretzel Day, falling on April 26th, the entire system gives away one pretzel to everyone who walks through the door of any Philly Pretzel Factory location. DiZio also throws a block party each year at the Mayfair location, treating the neighborhood to face painters, bounce houses, games and of course, pretzels, to give back to the loyal fans in the neighborhood.

As the world’s largest Philly-style bakery, Philly Pretzel Factory bakes fresh, delicious soft pretzels delivered to customers “served hot outta the oven.” Each pretzel, made from a mix of only the finest and freshest ingredients, is hand twisted to ensure quality and authenticity.
