Sarpino’s USA, based in Lincolnshire, Illinois, has decided to develop new corporate locations in the South Florida area. Formerly a franchise only system, great sales among franchisees convinced Dmitry Shapiro and David Chatkin, franchisors of Sarpino’s USA, to begin to open corporate stores and this market”, according to Vasili Bykau, “is perfect for that plan.” Serving as the company’s Performance Improvement Consultant Vasili made the choice to secure and open the first Sarpino’s Pizzeria corporate location in Ft. Lauderdale and will be in charge of all corporate locations that subsequently open.
It was Vasili who had been charged with the task of selecting the best market for the first corporate locations, analyzing competition in all possible areas and developing the marketing plan.
“Corporate had been planning to build its first location”, Vasili said, “originally looking in Philadelphia, but decided they wanted to develop South Florida. They had been looking for about a year, working with real estate developers, trying to find the perfect location because they did not want to compete with any local franchise owners and take business away from them.
Slava Kopilevich, the previous owner of this location, approached corporate about selling his Ft. Lauderdale location and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to turn it into their first corporate location.”
The Ft. Lauderdale location will serve as a test for our multi unit management program,” Vasili shared. “Having a tremendous multi unit management system in a business model is very important to food service operators,” he continues. “We will be using ours at this location at 100 East Broward Blvd. and hope to have another open in the area by January of 2016.”
Well known in Chicago for its 83 different gourmet pizzas, calzones and other delicious menu items. The delivery pizza chain treats the delivery part of the business as its main business.
Sarpino’s Pizzeria currently has 49 fully operational locations in eight states across the U.S. They have a total of 65 fully executed franchise agreements. They expect to have 50 locations open by the end of 2015 and 350 locations within five years. Target markets with current store opportunities include Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
