Shrewsbury, NJ-based MCLOONES RESTAURANTS (founded 1987) has increased by 1 unit, from 11 to 12 (9% growth), with the addition of a new concept called Robinson Ale House.  Other company concepts are Mcloone’s (10) and Rum Runner (1).  The restaurants are upscale, serving American and Irish cuisines.  Locations have full bar service and average seating for around 250.  Per person check average is $15-$50+, open for lunch and dinner.  Catering and banquet facilities are avaiable.  Trading areas are MD and NJ.

Milton, DE-based DOG FISH HEAD CRAFT BREWERY (founded 1995) has added a new concept called Chesapeake And Maine (1 unit).  Other company concepts are Bunyan’s Lunchbos (1), Dog Fish Head Alehouse (3) and Dog Fish Head Brewing & Eats (1). Overall company increase was from 5 to 6 (20% company growth).  The restaurants are family/casual bar and grills, open for lunch and dinner.  Check average per person is $8-$20+.  Seating is for about 250.  Banquet rooms are available.  The restaurants trade in DE, MD and VA.

Whitewater, WI-based TOPPERS PIZZA (founded 1991) has increased by 26 units, from 50 to 76 (52% growth) and entered into AR, KS and SD.  These quick serve pizzerias are open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Seating is for about 50. Catering, delivery and online ordering options are offered.  The restaurants are franchised and trade in AR, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, NC, NE, OH, SD, TX and WI.

Orlando, FL-based SMOKEY BONES BAR & FIRE GRILL (founded 1999) has increased by 2 units, from 65 to 67 (3% growth).  This family/casual American cuisine concept is open for lunch and dinner, with an $8-$20+ per person check average.  The restaurants have full bar service and average seating for about 250.  Catering and online ordering options are available.  Trading areas are FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, MI, NC, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN and VA.

Moline, IL-based HEART OF AMERICA GROUP (founded 1978) has increased by 1 unit for the Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse concept, from 9 to 10 (11% concept growth) and added a 2-unit concept called The J Bar.  Other concepts include Checkered Flag Bar & Grille / Gramma’s Kitchen (1), Machine Shed Restaurant (6) and Thunder Bay Grille (3).  Overall company increase was from 19 to 22 (16% growth).  The restaurants are family/casual, with an $8-$20+ per person check average, serving American and Italian cuisines.  Units have full bar service and average seating for about 250.  Catering and banquet services are available.  Trading areas are IA, IL, KS, MN, NE and WI.

Brooklyn, NY-based DOS TOROS has increased by 3 units, from 7 to 10 (43% growth).  This fast casual Mexican concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$15+ per person check average.  Locations serve beer and wine and seat around 70.  Catering and online ordering services are available.  All the restaurants are in NY.

GUMBO’S KITCHEN (founded 2005) has increased by 3 units, from 26 to 29 (12% growth) and entered into FL, NV and WI.  This fast casual Cajun/Creole concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person check average.  Beer is served and seating is for about 40. Catering is available.  All units are franchised and trade in AL, AR, CO, FL, IL, IN, KY, NV, OH, TN and WI.  We last featured this concept on 11/4/14 (6% growth).
