Restaurant Chain Growth Report 12/09/14Hoboken, NJ-based PITA GRILL  (founded 1993) has increased by 1 unit, from 7 to 8 (14% growth).  This fast casual Mediterranean concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Locations seat about 20 and offer catering, delivery and online ordering services.  Units are in NJ and NY.

Montana-based PICKLE BARREL (founded 1974) has increased by 1 unit, from 4 to 5 (25% growth).  These fast casual sandwich shops are open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Beer and wine are served and seating is for about 30.  Catering service is available.  Online ordering is offered at select locations.  Stores are in MT and SD.

PIERRE LOTI of New York, NY has increased by 1 unit, from 3 to 4 (33% growth).  These are upscale Mediterranean restaurants with full bar and seating for around 70.  Per person check average is around $15-$50+.  Locations are open for dinner.  Banquet services are offered.  All locations are in NY.

Venice, CA-based PITFIRE ARTISAN PIZZA (founded 1996) has increased by 1 unit, from 8 to 9 (13% company growth), with the addition of a new concept called Superba Food & Bread.  Other company concepts are Pitfire Artisan Pizza (7) and Superba Snack Bar (1).  The Pitfire restaurants are family/casual pizzerias, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $10-$30+, serving beer and wine.  Online ordering, catering, delivery and private party services are all available.  Superba Snack Bar is an upscale Italian concept, open for dinner only, with a $15-$50+ per person check average.  Superba Food & Bread is a fast casual bakery/cafe, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  All the restaurants are in CA.

Charlotte, NC-based FIREBIRDS WOOD FIRED GRILL (founded 2000) has increased by 6 units, from 30 to 36 (20% growth) and entered into FL, KS, NJ and SC.  The restaurants are family/casual, serving American cuisine.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner, with a $10-$30+ per person check average.  Locations have full bar service and average seating for about 200.  Trading areas are AL, AZ, DE, FL, KS, NC, NE, NJ, OH, PA, SC, TN and VA.  We last featured this concept on 2/11/14 (30% growth).
