Restaurant Chain Growth Report 12/30/14RUBY RESTAURANT GROUP based in Irvine, CA (founded 1982) has increased by 3 units for Ruby’s Diner, from 37 to 40 (8% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with seating for around 100.  Beer and wine are served.  Meal periods are breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $6-15+.  There is a second company concept called Beachcomber Cafe.  Overall company increase is from 38 to 41 (8% company growth).  Locations are in CA, HI, NJ, NV, PA and TX.

California-based PIZZA MY HEART (founded 1981) has increased by 1 unit, from 22 to 23 (5% growth).  The restaurants are family/casual, open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person check average.  Beer and wine are served and seating is for about 50.  Online ordering is available.  All locations are in CA.

New York, NY-based HALE & HEARTY SOUPS (founded 1996) has increased by 5 units, from 28 to 33 (18% growth).  This fast casual soup concept is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Units seat about 30 and offer catering, delivery and online ordering services.  All locations are in NY.

BLACK WALNUT CAFE of The Woodlands, TX has increased by 7 units for Black Walnut Café, from 5 to 12 (140% concept growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with full bar and seating for around 100.  Meal periods are breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $6-$15+.  Banquet services are offered.  There is a second company concept called Hubbell & Hudson.  Overall company increase is from 6 to 13 (117% company growth).  All locations are in TX.
