Gainesville, GA-based EL SOMBRERO has increased by 1 unit, from 14 to 15 (7% growth).  This family/casual Mexican concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$15+ per person price range.  Units seat about 150, serving beer.  All locations are in GA.

Lake Mary, FL-based GATOR’S DOCKSIDE (founded 1991) has increased by 1 unit for the Gator’s concept, from 17 to 18 (6% concept growth).  The company also operates Mickey Finn’s (1).  Overall company increase was from 18 to 19 (6% company growth).  This family/casual concept serves American cuisine, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $8-$20, serving full bar and seating around 350.  All locations are in FL.

THE STINKING ROSE of San Francisco, CA has increased by 1 unit, from 9 to 10 (11% growth) adding a new concept called Osso Steak House.  Other company concepts are Boboquivaris (1), Calzone’s (1), Crab House (1), Franciscan Crab Restaurant (1), Salito’s Crab House & Prime Rib (1), The Dead Fish (1), The Old Clam House (1) and The Stinking Rose (2).  These tend to be upscale restaurants with full bar and seating for around 300.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $15-$50+.  All locations are in CA.

WILLY’S MEXICANA GRILL based in Atlanta, GA (founded 1995) has increased by 1 unit, from 20 to 21 (5% growth).  These are fast casual Mexican restaurants with seating for around 60.  Beer and wine are served.  Meal periods are breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Catering is offered.  Locations are in FL and GA.

Colorado Springs, CO-based LA CASITA PATIO CAFÉ (founded 1986) has increased by 1 unit, from 3 to 4 (33% growth).  These fast casual Mexican restaurants are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person price range.  Units serve beer and wine and seat about 90.  Catering and delivery services are available.  All locations are in CO.

Englewood, CO-based TOKYO JOE’S (founded 1996) has increased by 4 units, from 22 to 25 (18% growth).  This is a fast casual Japanese concept, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $6-$12, serving beer.  Seating is for about 125.  Catering service is available.  All locations are in CO.

Gulf Shores, AL-based SHRIMP BASKET (founded 1993) has increased by 4 units for the Shrimp Basket concept, from 14 to 18 (29% concept growth).  The company also operates Mikee’s Seafood (1) and The Steamer Baked Oyster Bar (1).  Overall company increase was from 16 to 20 (25% company growth).  These are family/casual seafood concepts, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $8-$20, serving beer and wine.  Seating is for around 125.  Trading areas are AL, FL, and MS.

WING DADDY’S SAUCE HOUSE of El Paso, TX (founded 2008) has increased by 4 units, from 3 to 7 (133% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with full bar and seating for around 100.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $10-$30.  All locations are in TX.

Westlake, OH-based TWO BUCKS (founded 2010) has increased by 3 units, from 3 to 6 (100% growth).  The restaurants are family/casual, serving American cuisine.  Locations have full bar and seating for around 80.  One location is franchised.  Trading areas are OH and WI.

West Chester, PA-based DAVE MAGROGAN GROUP (founded 2003) has increased by 2 units for the Doc Magrogan’s concept, from 2 to 4 (100% concept growth) and entered into OH.  Other concepts are Harvest Seasonal Grill And Wine Bar (1) and Kildare’s Irish Pub (6).  Overall company increase was from 9 to 11 (22% growth).  The restaurants are mostly upscale, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $15-$50+, serving multiple cuisine types.  All the restaurants have full bar and average seating is for around 300.  Banquet services are available.  The restaurants are located in DE, NC, OH, and PA.

HUDDLE HOUSE of Atlanta, GA (founded 1964) has increased by 1 unit, from 395 to 396 (1% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with seating for around 60.  Meal periods are breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $6-$12.  Banquets are offered.  Locations are more than 90% franchised and are in AL, AR, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MO, MS, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA and WV.  We last reported on this concept on 4/24/12 (1% growth).

Wichita, KS-based FREDDY’S FROZEN CUSTARD AND STEAKBURGERS (founded 2002) has increased by 15 units, from 73 to 88 (21% growth) and entered into IA, IL, NM, and VA.  This quick serve ice cream and burger concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $3-$8 per person price range.  Units seat about 60 and offer private party and drive-thru services.  Units are franchised and trade in AZ, CA, CO, IA, IL, KS, MO, NE, NM, NV, OK, TX, UT, and VA.  We last wrote about this concept on 2/14/12 (35% growth).

JERSEY MIKE’S GIANT SUBS headquartered in Manasquan, NJ (founded 1956) has increased by 90 units, from 528 to 618 (17% growth) and expanded into NE, OR and MI.  These are quick serve sub shops with limited seating.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $3-$8.  Catering is offered.  Locations are more than 90% franchised and are in AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NE, NJ, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI and WV.  There are plans to expand into New York, NY during the summer of 2013.  We wrote about this concept on 4/10/12 (10% growth).

Salt Lake City, UT-based CAFE RIO (founded 1997) has increased by 13 units, from 46 to 59 (28% growth).  This fast casual Mexican concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person check average.  Units seat about 100 and offer catering and online ordering services.  Trading areas are AZ, CA, CO, ID, MD, MT, NV, UT, VA, and WY.  We featured this concept on 2/14/12 (12% growth).
