Michigan-based MARINO’S PIZZA has increased by 1 unit, from 3 to 4 (33% growth).  These quick serve pizzerias are open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person price range.  Units seat about 80.  Catering and private party services are available.  All locations are in MI.

Atlanta, GA-based TOP SPICE has increased by 1 unit, from 3 to 4 (33% growth).  These family/casual Thai restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with an $8-$20 per person check average.  The concept has full bar and seating for about 125.  Catering, delivery and online ordering options are available.  All locations are in GA.

Milwaukee, WI-based MO’S RESTAURANTS (founded 1999) has increased by 1 unit for the Mo’s A Place For Steaks concept, from 3 to 4 (33% concept growth).      The company also operates the 3-unit Mo’s Irish Pub concept.  Overall company increase was from 6 to 7 (17% growth).  The restaurants are mostly upscale, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $15-$50+, with full bar and seating for around 150.  Catering and banquet facilities are available.  Trading areas are IN, TX, and WI.

Miami, FL-based SERGIO’S RESTAURANT (founded 1975) has increased by 1 unit, from 4 to 5 (25% growth).  These family/casual Cuban restaurants are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a $6-$15+ per person check average.  Beer and wine are served and seating is for about 100.  Catering and online ordering options are available.  All locations are in FL.

BLUE GOOSE CANTINA of Dallas, TX has increased by 1 unit, from 5 to 6 (20% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with full bar and seating for around 150.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $8-$20.  Catering is offered.  All locations are in TX.

Houston, TX-based ADAIR FAMILY RESTAURANTS (founded 1988) has increased by 2 units for the Skeeter’s Mesquite Grill concept, from 6 to 8 (33% concept growth).  The company also operates the 4-unit Los Tios concept.  Overall company increase was from 10 to 12 (20% growth).  These are family/casual Mexican concepts, open for lunch and dinner, with an $8-$20 per person check average.  The restaurants seat about 150 and offer full bar service.  Catering, delivery, online ordering and banquet services are all offered.  All locations are in TX.

Vancouver, BC-based JOSEPH RICHARD GROUP (founded 2002) has increased by 2 units, from 6 to 8 (33% growth), with the addition of 2 new concepts called Edith + Arthur Public House and The Hemingway Public House.  Other concepts include Joseph Richard Nightclub (1), Micky’s Public House (1), The Henry Public House (1), and Townhall (3).  These are all family/casual restaurant/bar concepts, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $10-$30, serving American cuisine.  The restaurants seat about 200 and offer banquet service.  All the restaurants are in BC.  A new Townhall is scheduled to open in Abbottsford, BC in September 2013.

North Carolina-based SHIKI JAPANESE RESTAURANT has increased by 2 units for the Shiki Japanese concept, from 6 to 8 (33% concept growth) and added a new concept called Katana Japanese Fusion (1 unit).  Overall company increase was from 6 to 9 (50% company growth).  The restaurants are family/casual, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $10-$30, serving beer and wine.  The restaurants have seating for about 100 and offer catering and banquet services.  All locations are in NC.

Atlanta, GA-based RISING ROLL SANDWICH CO (founded 1996) has increased by 2 units, from 15 to 17 (13% growth).  This fast casual sandwich concept is open for breakfast and lunch hours, with a $4-$10 per person price range.  Units seat about 40 and offer catering, delivery, and online ordering options.  Stores are in GA and TX.

SMASHBURGER based in Denver, CO (founded 2007) has increased by 58 units, from 162 to 220 (36% growth) and expanded into SC and VA.  These are fast casual restaurant with seating for around 70.  Beer and wine are served.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $6-$12.  Locations are more than 90% franchised and are in AB, AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, NC, ND, NE, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT and VA.  We wrote about this concept on 7/24/12 (8% growth).
