Sizzler Marks Veterans Day with Free Lunch Entrées on Monday, Nov. 12

Active duty and retired members of the military may celebrate Veterans Day with a selection of free Sizzler lunch entrées at participating locations.

Before 4 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012, past and present members of the military with proof of service may select from three free entrées: 6-ounce Tri Tip Steak, Single Malibu Chicken or a Half Dozen Fried Shrimp. Each item is accompanied by a choice of side dish.

Proof of service includes a military-issue or veterans group ID card, appearance in uniform or a photo in uniform.

“Sizzler believes it is important to support both our heroes who have protected our country in the past, as well as, those who are making sacrifices today,” said Kerry Kramp, president and CEO.

Sizzler is also celebrating veterans by participating in a national Heinz Ketchup promotion that raises money and awareness for Wounded Warrior Project®, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that honors and empowers wounded warriors.

The promotional campaign encourages consumers to scan a quick response (QR) code on the back of specially marked Heinz Ketchup bottles. The scanned code leads to a website where consumers can write their own “thank you” message to an active duty or retired military service member. Participants also have the option to email a “thank you” to a personal friend or family member who has served in the military by entering an email address. Heinz will donate $1 to Wounded Warrior Project for each “thank you” sent and an additional 57 cents for each message shared on Facebook or Twitter through the campaign, up to $250,000.

Sizzler’s free lunch entrée offer is valid for dine-in before 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at participating locations. For a list of participating locations, visit www.sizzler.com/VetsDay12.pdf. The offer does not include the Salad Bar, beverage or gratuity.
