North Texas’ Favorite Bar-B-Que Has Satisfied Mac & Cheese Aficionados for Almost 50 Years
July 14th is National Mac and Cheese Day, and guests at Soulman’s Bar-B-Que have been able to enjoy the familiar taste of this culinary staple for almost 50 years.
“While people’s perceptions of Mac and Cheese have been transformed, from the original cheese and elbow pasta combo to the limitless variations that exist today, we at Soulman’s Bar-B-Que have concocted a truly unique blend of flavors and textures for our signature dish. We have a savory cheese blend that includes our signature BBQ Ranch baked fresh every day with a delectable crispy bread topping. Our Mac and Cheese stands apart as one of our guest’s favorite cheesy pasta dishes,” says Brett Randle, CEO of Soulman’s Bar-B-Que.
“Macaroni and cheese is the perfect pairing for bar-b-que, the melt-in-your-mouth creamy concoction is, by far, our bestselling side,” he continues.
The first macaroni and cheese recipe appeared in the 1824 cookbook The Virginia Housewife, written by Mary Randolph. Randolph’s recipe had only three ingredients and was baked in the oven. Later in 1852, many similar recipes to mac and cheese appeared in various cookbooks and handbooks. Kraft was the first company to sell mac and cheese in boxes in 1937. Factory production of ingredients made the dish famous and accessible to many.
Since 1974, Soulman’s has been serving up their signature bar-b-que to the legions of their loyal fans in North Texas.
“You haven’t tasted real down-home Mac & Cheese until you’ve had it ‘Soulman’s-style’,” concludes Randle.
For almost 50 years, Soulman’s Bar-B-Que has satisfied the hardest to please bar-b-que lovers….Texans! Founded in Pleasant Grove, Texas in 1974, Soulman’s had only a few simple goals – serve great Texas-style BBQ and offer friendly, sincere service. Soulman’s original family recipes are still the foundation for the company’s success from their 8 different types of meat that are smoked “low & slow” over only hickory wood to their famous homemade sides, including Ranch house beans and Texas style cream corn! Throughout the years, this family-owned and operated company has remained true to its original strive for success and customer satisfaction and is honored to be considered one of the Top Bar-B-Que Chains in America (2018) and Best Bar-B-Que in Dallas for Takeout & Delivery (2020).
