First Watch Restaurant Opens in Deerfield Beach

First Watch Restaurant Opens in Deerfield Beach

First Watch, the nation’s leading Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch concept, continues its growth today with the opening of its new Deerfield Beach restaurant, bringing its total count to 118 restaurants in 16 states, including 43 in Florida. The restaurant will employ approximately 25 people.

“We’ve been fortunate to find more opportunities to grow in our home state,” said Chris Tomasso, chief marketing officer for First Watch. “After more than 30 years in Florida, we still get requests for new restaurants and look forward to now being a part of the community of Deerfield Beach with this opening.”

The Deerfield Beach restaurant is located at 3644 W. Hillsboro Blvd. in the Shoppes of Deerfield at the corner of Hillsboro Boulevard and Powerline Road. The new 3,000-square-foot restaurant holds an end-cap space formerly occupied by H&R Block and features a patio for outdoor dining in the Publix Super Markets-anchored retail center. First Watch opened other locations in Boca Raton late last year in the Mission Bay Plaza at 20401 State Road 7 and relocated the Boca Village Square restaurant to 21170 St. Andrews Blvd late last year. Last week, First Watch opened a new restaurant in Lauderdale-by-the Sea at Sea Ranch Center located at 4715 N. Ocean Drive.

The new restaurant features an interior design concept known as “Connect.” It connects traditional First Watch design elements with contemporary executions by maximizing natural light and incorporating color tones that convey the warm and inviting personality of the brand. The design also accentuates an open-kitchen concept, which reinforces First Watch’s honest approach to fresh food preparation – all menu items are freshly prepared to order and the restaurant does not use deep fryers, microwaves or heat lamps.

Taking freshness to heart, First Watch offers 100% fresh-squeezed Orange Juice; house-made granola, salsa and dressings; house-roasted veggies and looks to locally source produce whenever possible. In addition to serving unique and fresh entrées, First Watch offers its exclusive Sunrise Select Premium Blend Coffee. The special blend is made from slow-roasted, hand-selected, high-grown coffee beans from mountains across the Americas.

A recipient of more than 200 “Best Of” accolades in markets across the country, including the 2014 “MenuMasters Award” by Nation’s Restaurant News for the Quinoa Power Bowl. First Watch features traditional favorites including pancakes, omelets, salads and sandwiches, as well as signature specialties such as the Chickichanga, Healthy Turkey Omelet and Fresh Fruit Crepes.

First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.; and is currently offering its Spring LTO through Sunday, May 11. The restaurant also offers guests complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.

First Watch Restaurant to Debut in Deerfield Beach in 2014

First Watch Restaurant to Debut in Deerfield Beach in 2014

“Daytime Café” announces plans for seventh restaurant in Southeast Florida

Award-winning Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch restaurant First Watch today announced plans to open its seventh restaurant in Southeast Florida in early 2014. The restaurant, located at 3600 W. Hillsboro Blvd. in the Deerfield Mall, will employ approximately 25 people.

The new 3,000-square-foot restaurant will hold an end-cap space formerly occupied by H&R Block and feature a patio for outdoor dining in the Publix Super Markets-anchored retail center. News of the Deerfield restaurant comes just months after First Watch opened in The Mission Bay Plaza at 20401 State Road 7, Boca Raton, and announced the relocation of the Boca Village Square restaurant to 21170 St. Andrews Blvd. in early October. First Watch currently has 41 restaurants in Florida.

“Over the past seven years, we have gained a strong, loyal costumer base in Southeast Florida that we are confident will carry over to this new restaurant in Deerfield Beach,” said Chris Tomasso, chief marketing officer for First Watch. “Given the proximity to our two Boca locations and the success of those restaurants, it seemed natural that we would look for a site in Deerfield Beach. We will continue seeking additional growth and expansion opportunities in this region and look forward to bringing our unique Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch offerings to even more residents.”

The new Deerfield restaurant will feature an interior design concept that connects traditional First Watch design elements with contemporary executions by maximizing natural light provided during the restaurant’s daytime hours. The design also incorporates color tones intended to convey the warm and inviting personality of the First Watch brand and accentuates an open-kitchen concept, which reinforces First Watch’s honest approach to fresh food preparation.

A recipient of more than 200 “Best Of” accolades in markets across the country, the restaurant features traditional favorites including pancakes, omelets, salads and sandwiches, as well as signature specialties such as the Chickichanga, Healthy Turkey Omelet and Fresh Fruit Crepes. All menu items are freshly prepared to order and the restaurant does not use deep fryers or heat lamps.

In addition to serving unique and fresh entrées, First Watch offers its exclusive Sunrise Select Premium Blend Coffee. The special blend is made from slow-roasted, hand-selected, high-grown Panamanian, Colombian and Mexican coffee beans.

First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The restaurant also offers guests complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.

In addition to the launch of the fall menu, First Watch announced it has added two quinoa dishes to its regular menu. First Watch introduced its Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl in January as a limited-time offering. Due to its popularity, the dish remained on the spring menu and was followed in the summer by the Cherry Chicken Quinoa Bowl. Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl
This protein-packed quinoa dish is mixed with kale, shredded carrots and house-roasted tomatoes. Topped with grilled all-natural lemon chicken breast, basil pesto sauce, feta crumbles and fresh herbs.

Cherry Chicken Quinoa Bowl
First introduced on the summer menu, this protein-packed quinoa dish is tossed with house-roasted zucchini, dried cherries, all-natural white meat chicken breast and herbed goat cheese. Topped with sliced almonds, fresh herbs and drizzled with balsamic dressing.

First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The restaurant also offers guests complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.

First Watch Pledges To Raise More Than $50,000 To Help Connect Hungry Children With 500,000 Meals

One in five children in America struggles with hunger. It’s a staggering statistic and one that First Watch hopes to help rectify. The award-winning Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch restaurant company today announced a yearlong campaign to raise more than $50,000 for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. First Watch’s donation will help connect 500,000 meals to children at risk of hunger across the country.*

As part of the campaign, First Watch will donate 25 cents from every kid’s meal purchased for one year and 50 cents from each bag of its house-made granola sold in September. This is the first time ever that the granola is being offered for retail purchase.

First Watch Pledges To Raise More Than $50,000 To Help Connect Hungry Children With 500,000 Meals

“First Watch has been a major supporter of Share Our Strength® for the past five years, and this year, we are increasing our commitment,” said Chris Tomasso, chief marketing officer for First Watch. “We are striving for a record-breaking donation through our kid’s meal and granola sales with the hopes of helping connect nearly 500,000 meals to kids who need them. There is a powerful message here and one that we cannot ignore. Childhood hunger has to end, and this is just one way First Watch is trying to help.”

First Watch has partnered with the No Kid Hungry campaign since 2009 and has donated more than $90,000 to the cause. This year, First Watch is pledging to raise $50,000, which will help connect kids struggling with hunger to 500,000 meals. Money raised through the sale of its newly retailed 12-ounce bags of granola throughout the month of September will be in addition to the $50,000 contribution.

First Watch is known for its fresh, healthy approach to Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch, and its kid’s menu is no exception with choices that emphasize lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy. The kid’s menu, in cooperation with the National Restaurant Association’s Kids LiveWell program, features items that meet qualifying nutrition criteria based on leading health organizations’ scientific recommendations, including the 2010 USDA Dietary Guidelines.

For more information on Share Our Strength and No Kid Hungry, visit nokidhungry.org.

*This amount was determined on the basis that $1 can help connect a child with up to 10 nutritious meals, which is, in turn, based on the individual experiences of Share Our Strength’s grant recipients. It is provided to illustrate how community investments can be used to help end childhood hunger. Each contribution made to Share Our Strength represents a contribution to its original mission. Donations will be used to reach the highest number of children facing hunger in America. Share Our Strength is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
