Following his career with the Department of Defense, Wilson wanted to own his own business. On Thursday, February 5 at 11 a.m., Wilson will open a new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in his home of Douglasville. To celebrate, the new restaurant is hosting a three day grand opening.

“While traveling to Peachtree City on business I visited the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit and was impressed by the concept and the food was outstanding,” said first time owner, Winfield Wilson. “I grew up in Texas and Dickey’s brisket is some of the best I’ve ever had, which is really saying something.”

The three day barbecue bash includes:

  • Thursday offers the first 50 dine in guests gift cards ranging from $5 to $50.
  • Friday includes t-shirts, tote bags and sunglasses when Dickey’s Barbecue Pit offers all day merchandise giveaways.
  • Saturday from noon to 2 p.m., guests get a barbecue deal with $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches. Guests can stop by to see radio station Rock 100.5 and one lucky winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners will receive free barbecue for an entire year.
