Dairy Queen is kicking off the summer season in June with the addition of some cool treats and hot eats to the menu including the debut of the Sweet Apple BBQ GrillBurger, the new Turtle Brownie Blizzard Treat and new flavors of the award-winning Royal Shakes.
Adding to the line-up of signature GrillBurgers, the DQ system is introducing the quarter-pound Sweet Apple BBQ GrillBurger, which is layered with crisp bacon, fresh onion slices, leaf lettuce, a slice of thick-cut tomato, pepper jack cheese and topped with a sweet apple BBQ sauce that features real chunks of apple, all served on a home-style bakery bun.
Turtle Brownie is the featured Blizzard of the Month for June. Made with a delicious mix of buttery pecans, rich caramel and chewy brownie pieces blended with creamy DQ vanilla soft serve, Turtle Brownie is served in Mini, small, medium or large Blizzard Treat sizes. Also debuting this month are new flavors of the DQ system’s classic Royal Shakes which include Mint Chip, Caramel CheeseQuake, and to celebrate the 100th birthday of America’s favorite cookie, Oreo. The Royal Shakes are crowned with a silky whipped topping.

The summer also is a top season for the DQ Cake business. Traditional cakes, as well as Blizzard Cakes made with the new Turtle Brownie or another Blizzard flavor, are perfect for Father’s Day, graduations and other special events such as birthdays and anniversaries.
The Dairy Queen system began blending simple combinations of candies, nuts, cookies, fruits and DQ soft serve in 1985 to create the signature Blizzard Treat. Since then, one-of-a-kind flavors such as Nutter Butter, Triple Chocoholic, Midnight Truffle, Turtle Oreo, Confetti Cake and Double Fudge Cookie Dough have delighted Dairy Queen fans as part of the featured Blizzard of the Month program, which began in 2003.
