Today, Which Wich Superior Sandwiches launches a new menu category, Bag 8, system-wide. This newest menu innovation to come out of its Research and Development arm will feature six premium authentic regional favorites – like a classic Greek Gyro and a NYC-style Reuben – every eight weeks.
“We identified wiches we already had and decided to up the ante by re-creating them in their most authentic state,” says Which Wich founder Jeff Sinelli. “We brought in a special pita bread for our gyro and an incredible marbled rye for our Reuben.” Sinelli notes the sandwiches in this premium category have more than 1/3 lb meat and more cheese.
Which Wich has sourced items like buttermilk battered shrimp for its New Orleans Po’ Boy. “After a decade in business, we’ve learned that our customers want the best in authentic custom-built wiches,” explains Sinelli. “This new category was an effort from our R&D team, our owners, and guest requests.”
Some new twists to the featured category include a sweepstakes for a free trip for two to NYC over New Year’s Eve during the Reuben launch.
The new menu iteration will also include new premium items on the regular bags, like sriracha, sweet chili sauce, candied walnuts, and dried cranberries.
“We know we have a really committed guest base that enjoy ordering off our underground menus. These premium ingredients can be mixed and matched to create anything from a Waldorf Salad to a Green Eggs and Ham,” says Vice President of Operations James Pa. “We’re really adding items found in specialty markets to a fast casual setting. In testing, the Bag 8 has consistently risen to the top of sales.”
