Originator of the Down-the-Line Pizza Category Introduces Fresh Fiesta Pie and Firecracker Gelato, Paired with Local Brews
America is in love with avocados. Whether they’re adorning toast, tacos or eaten on their own, this versatile, creamy-lush fruit might be the most beloved food trend of them all. Avocados are also the latest inspiration behind Your Pie’s seasonal Craft Pie Series. For its second tasty creation of 2016, the down-the-line brick oven pizza franchise is serving up a truly “avocontrol” concoction mixed with bold and spicy flavors: The Fresh Fiesta pie, Firecracker Gelato with Pop Rocks and cold craft brews from some of the best local breweries. The series will be offered for a limited time at all Your Pie locations from March 23 through May 31.
“We’re excited to continue on with our tradition of innovation, both in the flavors of the specialty pizza and having the opportunity to partner with local breweries throughout the communities we serve,” said Drew French, founder of Your Pie. “Just about everyone loves the fresh, creamy flavor of fresh avocado—especially when it’s used to create the perfect guacamole. Avocado is really the star of the show when it comes to our newest pizza, and it’s easily one of our freshest pies to date.”
The new Fresh Fiesta Pie is described as deconstructed guacamole—Your Pie style. It starts with an olive oil base and its topped with white cheddar cheese, tomatoes, red onion, corn, jalapenos, garlic and a pinch of salt. After it’s baked in the brick oven, the brand’s pizza experts finish it off with fresh cilantro, slices of ripe, green avocado and a spritz of lime. The origin of the Fresh Fiesta Pie makes it even more unique—it was created by franchisee Dea Dims and her General Manager Trevor Jorgensen They submitted the pizza at the brand’s annual franchise conference, Franchise Fest , in fall of 2015, and their creation was voted the favorite submission among their peers and system franchisees.
Other seasonal additions to the Craft Pie Series menu include the Firecracker Gelato with Pop Rocks, a heat-meets-sweet dessert featuring rich chocolate gelato and energetic sparks of spicy chipotle, all topped off with a childhood favorite—Pop Rocks.
This year, to keep things truly regional, Your Pie is bringing back its Drink Local campaign. Each store will pair up with a favorite local brewery of their choosing and encourage guests to share the love on social media with #DrinkLocal.
“In the past, we’ve partnered with a specific brewery, but it wasn’t necessarily local for every store involved. By bringing back our Drink Local campaign, we’re promoting the hard work of local breweries and sparking some buzz around their poduct. At the same time, we’re able to separate Your Pie from a lot of the chains out there—we’re showing that we’re invested in and care for the communities that have in turn supported our brand,” French said.
The Craft Pie Series has been a seasonal feature of the Your Pie menu since French opened the first fast-casual pizza concept in 2008, and since then, they’ve whipped up popular creations like the Slider Pie, a pizza spin on the classic American cheeseburger; the Prosciutto Peach Pizza, which featured fresh peaches, prosciutto and a honey balsamic glaze; and most recently, the New Gyro Pie, which was based with a zesty homemade tzatziki sauce and then topped with feta and mozzarella cheeses, thinly-sliced gyro meat, tomato and fresh dill.
With the introduction of the Fresh Fiesta Pie, the brand announced that they’re also continuing their “InsPIEring Communities” concept. Originally introduced in early 2016, franchisees are encouraged to partner with a local organization of their choice to donate pizzas and proceeds raised through any Fresh Fiesta Pie sales. Locations in Perimeter and Roswell, Georgia have teamed up and will be donating more than 800 pizzas—a contribution that’s worth more than $6,000—to people in need in their communities.

Your Pie is on pace to open 28 restaurants in 2016, with locations being built in new markets including California, Arizona, Ohio, Missouri and Virginia. The brand looks to continue signing new franchisees for the remainder of the year, with franchise opportunities available across the U.S. and immediate opportunities in Nashville, Charlotte, Raleigh and Durham.
