Chain Brings Back Fan-Favorite Fried Pickles and Gives Grillers a Break with Grilled Chicken Sandwich Meal
At the request of the its loyal fanatics, Zaxby’s has brought back Fried Pickles as a limited time offer menu item and is featuring its Grilled Chicken Sandwich Meal to complement the summer grilling season. A Southeast favorite for chicken fingers and wings and one of the nation’s fastest growing restaurant chains, Zaxby’s encourages fanatics to take advantage of its summer promotional offerings available in all Zaxby’s location.
“My colleagues and I don’t just work at Zaxby’s, we are also fanatics for the food,” said Zach McLeroy, CEO and co-founder of Zaxby’s. “Like our loyal fans, we have been anxiously awaiting summer as it means pickle season is finally here and we all have a delicious solution when we are ready to give our grills a break. We are thrilled to be provide our guests with exactly what they want.”
For more than a year, fans have taken to social media – including offers for over-the-top gestures like shaving their heads – to beg Zaxby’s to bring back fried pickles. Through tongue-in-cheek messaging that ties into brand’s recent ad campaign, the restaurant chain granted fans’ requests and rolled out the consistently popular menu item – lightly breaded pickles, fried to perfection and served with creamy Ranch dressing. As explained by fictional spokesperson Farmer Fred Gunderson in the ads, Zaxby’s offers fried pickles for a limited time because the equally fictitious “pickle-growing season” is short. Farmer Fred provides insight into the world of pickle farming and offers wise words through pickle proverbs. Guests may interact with Mr. Gunderson at #AskFarmerFred and learn more at Zaxbys.com/friedpicklepatch.
To allow grilling enthusiasts to take a break from the heat without compromising the flavor, Zaxby’s highlights its Grilled Chicken Sandwich Meal – Grilled Chicken topped with honey mustard and crisp lettuce on a brioche bun, served with Crinkle Fries and a Small Beverage. As professed by multifaceted entertainer Kix Brooks, the Grilled Chicken Sandwich Meal is the best thing of the summer. Featured in Zaxby’s current television spots, fans know Brooks as one half of one of Country Music’s most successful duos of all time as well as a solo touring/recording artist. He recently added lead actor to his already extensive resume, which also includes three-time CMA “National Broadcast Personality of The Year” winner for his radio show American Country Countdown, host of his Kickin’ It with Kix radio show five nights a week, co-owner of Nashville’s award-winning winery Arrington Vineyards and columnist for Country Weekly.
As part of the Grilled Chicken Sandwich Meal, Zaxby’s guests also enjoy The Coca-Cola Company’s proprietary drink fountain, Coca-Cola Freestyle. The sleek, stylish fountain is touch-screen operated, enabling guests to select from more than 100 regular and low-calorie brands – including many varieties of waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages that, prior to the arrival of Coca-Cola Freestyle, were not available in the U.S.
