Arooga’s Premieres Industry-Leading Parking Application
When it comes to running its award-winning business, Arooga’s Grill House & Sports Bar thinks of everything. Even parking.
At a recent press conference at the downtown Harrisburg Arooga’s (201 North 2nd Street), Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse announced the Pango Mobile Parking App, which will allow Arooga’s guests to view their daily food and happy hour specials when they pay to park using this app. Arooga’s is the first Harrisburg restaurant to partner with Pango
“We thank Arooga’s for leading the way in using Pango to provide an easy way for its customers to use their phones to pay for parking,” said Mayor Eric Papenfuse. “I encourage businesses throughout the city of Harrisburg to follow Arooga’s lead and help provide coupons and incentives for people to sign up for Pango as soon as possible.”
Arooga’s, the Harrisburg, Penn.-born and based award-winning full-service casual restaurant and bar with nine locations in Central Pennsylvania, decided to be an early adopter of the technology in order to make parking a non-issue for its customers.
“When it comes to appealing to Arooga’s guests, we try to think of everything,” said Gary Huether, Jr., president and co-founder of Arooga’s. “When you think about it, the entire restaurant experience begins with parking and we wanted to make that as simple as possible for our valued guests.”
Arooga’s, which recently received a 2014 Best of Harrisburg Business Hall of Fame honor, also hosted two launch parties: the first immediately following Tuesday’s press conference and the second, last night at its downtown location. Arooga’s catered each event courtesy of Pango for attendees who signed up for the new app and had a special section of the restaurant dedicated to Pango, whose representatives spoke with customers while providing app demonstations and taking questions about the program.
