Burger 21 to Open Second South Florida Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale on April 27Burger 21, an award-winning, “beyond the better burger” fast casual franchise, announced today its second restaurant in South Florida will open in Fort Lauderdale on April 27 at 2949 N. Federal Highway. To celebrate, the restaurant will be giving away Burger 21 t-shirts to the first one hundred guests.

Attorney-turned-restaurant owner, Adam Booken, left the corporate world to follow his life-long dream of business ownership. He, along with his family, also own and operate the Burger 21 location in Davie, Fla., located at 2451 S. University Drive, which opened last year. As a Burger 21 franchisee, Booken has been able to combine his love for great food with his desire to support the local community. The family-owned business is dedicated to giving back to the community through the company’s “B Charitable” initiative, in which it donates 10 percent of its sales to local schools and charities on the 21st of each month. The entrepreneurs plan to develop additional locations in the area over the next several years.

“We’re thrilled to open our second Burger 21 restaurant in Fort Lauderdale,” said franchisee Adam Booken. “We were drawn to the brand because of its high quality food and unique concept and look forward to being part of Burger 21’s continued growth. My family and I are also excited to be able to bring new job opportunities to the community.”

Additionally, on the 21st of each month, Burger 21 Fort Lauderdale offers a featured burger creation and signature shake available for an entire month. Highlights of the new restaurant include:

  • 50 – 60 new team members hired in Fort Lauderdale
  • 2,700 square feet inside plus a 200-square-foot patio
  • Seating for 94 customers with 30 seats on the patio

In addition to offering guests a variety of chef-inspired beef and non-beef burger creations, like the Tex-Mex Haystack, Spicy Thai Shrimp, Black Bean and Mediterranean Chicken, the Fort Lauderdale location will also offer fresh salads, hand-crafted shakes, a gluten-free menu, and craft beer and wine by the glass.

Recognition for Burger 21 in 2014 included being named one of QSR’s “Best Franchise Deals” and one of Fast Casual’s Top 100 “Movers and Shakers” of 2014. As the youngest concept of the top 10 brands, Burger 21 ranked No. 5, up from No. 22 last year. Additionally, Burger 21 President Mark Johnston was acknowledged as one of the “Top 25 People” for his continued strategic leadership in the growth and development of the brand.
