On Sunday, May 28 for the Burger’s National Holiday, Applebee’s Handcrafted Cheeseburger and its Impossible Burger, both served with Classic Fries, are available for only $5
That’s a 65% discount for those counting
Looking for a Cheeseburger in Paradise and want a side of fries with it on National Burger Day? Look no further than SSCP-owned Applebee’s restaurants in the Roanoke and Lynchburg areas of Virginia. On Sunday, May 28, an unprecedented local deal for the Handcrafted Cheeseburger & Classic Fries, from 5-8 p.m. CT, will be offered for only $5 when dining in-restaurant*.
Dallas-based SSCP Management Inc., the celebrated Applebee’s franchise partner, owns and operates 12 Virginia Applebee’s restaurants, including Martinsville, Wytheville, Salem, Rocky Mount, Norton, Roanoke, Radford, Danville, Lynchburg, Lexington, South Boston, and Galax.
SSCP’s fan-favorite Cheeseburger & Fries combo is normally priced from $11.99 – $13.99 daily, yet this offer will take its neighbors back to the 1980s, when the brand introduced the world to casual dining. The deal represents a 65% discount on that day during that time.
“We’re firing up the grill and turning back the clock for National Burger Day in Virginia,” said Applebee’s Executive Vice President Kerry Norton. “And we are not talking about your basic burger and bun. “Applebee’s burgers are handcrafted, made from an all-beef patty topped with two slices of American cheese. Garnished with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles and nested in a Brioche bun, our burgers are guests’ favorites and we are very proud of the superior product we serve daily in each our neighborhoods.”
A $5 National Burger Day deal sounds Impossible, which is ironic as the Impossible® Burger & Classic Fries is also available for $5. Applebee’s Impossible Burger is made from plants for those who prefer a non-meat option and is topped with two slices of American cheese. The craveable creation is served with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on a Brioche bun with Classic Fries on the side.
SSCP has invested more than $1,500,000 ($125,000 per restaurant) to revitalize its Virginia-based Applebee’s restaurants and improve their neighborhoods. Through this investment, the community has taken notice and the restaurants have experienced a resurgence unprecedented in the area.
SSCP has invested in these Virginia restaurants by adding new booths, new TV packages, juke boxes and upgraded sound systems, new flooring and blinds, manicured landscaping, exterior lighting and roof cap, LED lighting, and new front doors in some locations and topped it all off with a fresh coat of paint.
SSCP is a family-owned and operated business started by Sunil Dharod. Dharod has been in the restaurant business for decades and became an Applebee’s franchisee in 2008 when acquiring his first location in Texas. Sunil’s son, Chris, has led the business operations recently and while under his guidance, the company has been a leader in the Applebee’s system for both innovation and operations excellence having earned two of Applebee’s most coveted franchisee awards in recent years – Applebee’s Operator of the Year and Marketing Innovator of the Year.
SSCP, routinely a Top-50 member of the Franchise Times annual list of the largest U.S. franchisees, owns and operates 80 Applebee’s restaurants stretching from Virginia to California with its headquarters in Dallas. The franchisee and its affiliates also own 43 Sonic Drive-Ins and is the parent company of Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion and franchisor of Cici’s Pizza. SSCP has a total of approximately 400 restaurants across 25 states.
While hours of operation vary by location, most of SSCP’s Virginia Applebee’s restaurants are open until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday (only Galax & Radford respectively close at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.) All these restaurants offer Half-Price Apps every day after 9 p.m. & Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
*Offer only valid for dine-in at participating SSCP Applebee’s restaurants from 5-8 p.m. ET. No coupon required.
