Cheba Hut “Toasted” Subs, the counterculture sandwich shop celebrated for its chill atmosphere and bold flavors, is expanding its presence to Milwaukee’s south side. The new location at the 84 South Shopping Complex offers a unique combination of munchie-destroying subs and a full-service bar. Grand opening celebrations begin on May 11, featuring raffles and exclusive brand swag for guests.
Local Duo Expands the Cheba Hut Experience in Wisconsin
Franchisees Heather and RC Huhn are the husband-and-wife team behind the new joint. Heather, a former teacher, and RC, a longtime entrepreneur, sought a business concept that aligned with their shared passion for food and authentic brand values.
“RC and I are both foodies at heart, so when we started looking into business concepts, the combination of great subs and a full bar immediately caught our attention,” said Heather Huhn. “We made the trip to Madison to try it for ourselves, fell in love with the food and never looked back. Once we spent time with the team at HQ and experienced the authenticity and values behind the brand, it felt like a natural fit for our family to go all in with the brand”.
Artistic Tribute and Menu Highlights at Cheba Hut
The Greenfield shop, the third for the Huhn family, features a custom mural by artist Josh Finley. The artwork pays tribute to the local community’s agricultural roots, depicting a groovy hut and an old tractor.

Toasted Sub Varieties: The menu includes favorites like the White Widow, Kali Mist, and the Dank.

Customizable Sizes: Guests can choose between three sizes: nugs (4-inch), pinners (8-inch), and blunts (12-inch).

Signature Treats: Beyond subs, the shop offers bottomless Kool-Aid, various snacks, and a full bar.

Late-Night Access: The shop remains open until midnight during the week and until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Located near I-94, the new Cheba Hut Greenfield serves several neighboring communities, including Franklin, Hales Corners, and West Allis. The brand continues to focus on high-quality, made-to-order dining and community connection.
