The grand opening of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Athens will be this Friday, August 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. To celebrate this special day Dickey’s will be serving $1 Pulled Pork Big Barbecue sandwiches and three lucky customers will win free barbecue for an entire year.

“Dickey’s offers a variety of BBQ and is unlike anything else in the area,” said franchise owner Sassy Tumblin who owns and operates this location with her husband Trippy. “We are happy to be serving this great community Texas-style BBQ.”

This store is located on the corner of Hawthorne Avenue and Oglethorpe Avenue, right across the street from the YMCA. The store hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The couple currently owns the Dickey’s in Watkinsville located at 2131 Hog Mountain Road, which they acquired in January 2010.
