New Southeast Edmonton Location Brings Slow-Smoked Texas Barbecue to Ellerslie Neighborhood

Dickey's Barbecue Pit Opens Fourth Edmonton RestaurantDickey’s Barbecue Pit is furthering its Canadian expansion with the debut of a new location in Southeast Edmonton’s rapidly growing Ellerslie neighborhood. Situated at 5250 Ellerslie Road SW in the Harvest Hill shopping center, this opening marks the fourth restaurant for the brand in Edmonton. Since first arriving in the city in 2022, the concept has introduced local diners to authentic, slow-smoked meats and classic American staples that have defined the brand since its original Texas opening in 1941.

Authentic Smoking Traditions at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

The hallmark of the menu is a low-and-slow approach to smoking premium cuts of brisket, chicken, and sausage. Using a proprietary hickory wood pellet blend, the kitchen team smokes meats for hours to ensure deep, craveable flavors. Beyond the traditional sliced and chopped brisket, the Ellerslie location offers an expanded menu featuring:

  • Signature Meats: Fall-off-the-bone ribs, chicken wings, and brisket burnt ends.

  • Classic Sides: Barbecue beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and loaded baked potatoes.

  • Iconic Traditions: The world-famous Big Yellow Cup served with every visit.
