Foodie and Celebrity Destination, Via Veneto, Celebrates 20 Years

Santa Monica’s fine dining Italian restaurant hits its emerald year and announces plan for speakeasy and cocktail menu

Foodie and Celebrity Destination, Via Veneto, Celebrates 20 YearsVia Veneto – the iconic and beloved Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Santa Monica – has reached a momentous 20 years in business.

In the restaurant’s storied history, it has become well-known as a celebrity favorite, due to its coveted downtown location, authentic cuisine and attention to detail. Recent well-known diners have included Chris Hemsworth, Matt Damon and Harrison Ford, who join regulars like the Beckhams, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Heidi Klum, and Madonna. Regardless of the Hollywood social status, owner and founder Fabrizio Bianconi and his team are known for warmly welcoming each and every patron, serving them as if they were a guest in his own home. It’s the differentiation between a good meal and an unparalleled dining experience that has guests coming back time and time again – for more than 20 years.

Bianconi came to the United States from Rome in 2003, working his way through the restaurant industry hosting, waiting and managing some of the finest restaurants across California. Following years of experience, he decided to open his own restaurant where patrons could experience Italian fine dining in a polished, yet relaxed atmosphere.

“We have worked hard to create the best Italian dining standard in Santa Monica and are ecstatic to celebrate 20 years of business,” said Bianconi. “It is a testament to our love of food and seeing our guests delight in the dining experience while showcasing the best of Italian cuisine. We owe our success to our dedicated staff, loyal customers and the vibrant Santa Monica community, and look forward to 20 more years of service.”

Since opening its doors, Via Veneto has established itself as a culinary hotspot, offering a taste of Italy in Los Angeles.

The seasonally rotating menu incorporates organic, locally grown and sourced ingredients. Highlights include pasta dishes such as the housemade fettuccine bolognese and homemade purple potato gnocchi, and signature entrees such as grilled langoustines, grilled whole fresh Dover sole and bone-in pounded and breaded veal chop.

This milestone has also inspired the expansion of Via Veneto. Plans are underway to create a speakeasy adjacent to the building, with access via an undisclosed passage in the current establishment. The addition will include an array of new cocktails and spirits to be served in both the speakeasy and main dining room. While details are currently still to be revealed, this addition to Via Veneto will allow Bianconi and his team to further serve those looking for a more private setting. And if the current level of hospitality is any indication, the speakeasy will leave no detail unnoticed, catering to the most discerning tastes of those stepping through its doors – just like its namesake, Via Vittorio Veneto.
