A Proven Community Dessert Concept Prepares for Southeastern Expansion

Fuse Frozen Co. Bringing Self-Serve Dessert Concept to New MarketsAfter nearly fifteen years spent polishing its community-focused dessert model, Fuse Frozen Co. is ready to grow its franchise footprint across the Southeast. Having successfully tested the setup in both corporate and franchised units, the Georgia-based company is looking for qualified franchise partners in select target markets.

Founded back in 2012, Fuse Frozen Co. runs three corporate locations in Glynn County, Georgia, along with franchised spots in St. Augustine, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia.

“Rather than rushing into franchising, we wanted to prove the concept first in multiple locations,” said Justin Henshaw, founder and CEO of Fuse Frozen Co., regarding the company’s decision to launch franchising in 2025. “We focused on building profitable stores, documenting our systems, creating repeatable operating procedures, and making sure the model could succeed without the owner being involved in day-to-day operations.”

Customizable Treats and Low-Labor Operations

The dessert selection features frozen yogurt with both standard and rotating flavors, plus ice cream, gelato, dairy-free sorbet, and a wide array of toppings. Guests can also choose gluten-free options to build custom sweet treats.

Beyond its menu offerings, Fuse Frozen Co. aims to serve as a local hub for family celebrations and post-dinner visits, while delivering a sustainable business model for owners.

The streamlined self-serve system helps keep labor expenses down, simplifies inventory control, and boosts store-level performance. In fact, both of the brand’s initial franchisee groups have already expressed interest in opening additional locations.

“To us, that’s one of the strongest indicators that we’re building something special,” Henshaw added.

Focused Growth Across Key Southeastern Markets

Instead of selling territories randomly, Fuse Frozen Co. is targeting development in North Florida – specifically Jacksonville and neighboring towns like Yulee, St. Augustine, and Daytona Beach – alongside continued expansion in suburban Metro Atlanta. This clustering strategy helps strengthen regional marketing efforts and operations.

“This business was built for real people and real families – not just experienced restaurant operators,” Henshaw said. “We’ve spent nearly 15 years simplifying every aspect of the operation. Personally, I haven’t worked inside one of my stores in nearly 12 years. I couldn’t even tell you how to operate our point-of-sale system anymore – and I say that with pride. That’s exactly what we set out to build: a business that doesn’t depend on the owner being there every day.”

That approach continues to guide the brand’s measured rollout strategy.

“We’re not interested in becoming the biggest frozen dessert franchise overnight,” he said. “Our goal is to become one of the best. That means partnering with great people, supporting them well, and growing at a pace that protects the brand and creates long-term success for everyone involved.”
