Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a Denver-based fast casual restaurant featuring fresh and healthy Mediterranean cuisine, will celebrate the opening of its first Connecticut location on Thursday, March 20 at Evergreen Walk in South Windsor.
“South Windsor has been extremely welcoming,” said franchisee Gregory Slayton of GS GMG. “We are excited to provide authentic Mediterranean menu items that we are known for throughout the country.”
“We are looking forward to adding more locations starting with Lake Success in New Hyde Park, New York and our third location in Brooklyn, New York,” added Donald Bleau, president of GS GMG. “We will be continuing our expansion throughout Connecticut, and in New York in Nassau County, Suffolk County, Westchester County, Boroughs of Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island.”
Garbanzo offers guests a variety of authentic Mediterranean items with an emphasis on flavor, freshness and quality, as well as a healthy trans-fat free menu. Guests can enjoy traditional favorites such as kabobs, gyros, Greek salads or customize their meal with items such as pita, Mediterranean wraps, falafel, hummus, seasoned rice, sauces and dressings. All Garbanzo salads and sauces are prepared on-site daily, and the pita are made from scratch throughout the day in every restaurant. Additionally, several ingredients are bought locally and some are imported directly from the Mediterranean region.

Founded in 2013, GS GMG has the rights to develop up to 47 Garbanzo restaurants in the northeast. The group’s next location is planned for Lake Success in New Hyde Park, NY in Q3, 2014.
The new Garbanzo is located in Evergreen Walk at 500 Evergreen Way in South Windsor. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
