Happy Shuckin' New Year: American Seafood Brand Expands

Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar ended the year on a high note and picked up 2019 in stride. After opening their fourth triangle-area location in Raleigh, NC and the soon-to-open location in Statesboro GA, Shuckin’ Shack Franchising is proud to announce a partnership with a group in the Hickory area to bring “A Good Shuckin’ Time” to the North Carolina Foothills.

For those unfamiliar with Shuckin’ Shack, the Carolina Beach based restaurant franchise brings Wild Caught American Seafood, Cold Beer, and High-Quality Spirits, all coupled with a laid-back family-friendly atmosphere. The award-winning franchise has more than a dozen locations in 4 states. “We’re so proud of our fourth Triangle location,” says Jonathan Weathington, CEO, “Raleigh (2340 Bale Street @ McNeill Pointe) is very near and dear to me, so opening a location in the heart of the capital city is a huge a win. Our locations in Cary, Durham, and Raleigh are all owned by locals who do so much for the community and enjoy serving you.”

Second on the list of New Year accomplishments is Statesboro GA, which opens this week. “We are very happy to be opening in Statesboro. The city represents everything we are as a brand – they like good food, cold drinks, sports, and having a good time,” says Co-Founder and COO, Matt Piccinin, “we promise not to disappoint.” The Statesboro location went through multiple training days and is now open for dinner only. A full schedule, including lunch, will begin at a later date. Stay tuned to their Facebook page for more details.

Finally, the Hickory expansion represents an accomplishment of the goals that Shuckin’ Shack set back in 2014, at the beginning of franchising. “We talked five years ago about being intentional with our growth and opening stores that will perform well,” says Weathington, “we believe Hickory fits the exact mold of where we want to be.” And perform well, the chain has. While a large portion of the casual dining industry is down, Shuckin’ Shack grew 4% in comp sales from 2017 to 2018, despite having lost over two months in store level revenue due to Hurricane Florence and store relocation.  2019 represents a year of incredible opportunity for the bustling brand, be sure to visit their website to stay in the know.
