Little Sister – the Southern Italian concept and “homage” to 13th Street Kitchen owners Michael and Jeniphur Pasquarello’s roots – is now looking to open “some time” next year, says Michael Pasquarello, who declined to give any more specifics on a proposed timeline.
Brunswick, OH – Beyond Juicery + Eatery
Beyond Juicery + Eatery has announced plans to open its ninth Ohio location. The latest location is planned for 3841 Center Road in Brunswick, Ohio, before the end of next spring. The spot is currently home to Little Caesars Pizza.
Chicago, IL – Grove Bronzeville
Bronzeville: Local development and engineering firm Milhouse Development in September announced a proposal for the Grove Bronzeville, a three-story food hall and market slated for a property at 4731-59 S. Cottage Grove Avenue, according to Block Club Chicago. Milhouse leadership tells reporters that they aim to design the first floor with stalls for Black women entrepreneurs, and weave in a collaborative coding training program with House of Attention that will create a so-called “metaverse restaurant” to offer diners a virtual vacation while they dine. The group hopes to close on the property and go before Chicago’s Plan Commission by November or December.
Minneapolis, MN – Indigenous Food Labs
Coming this fall to Midtown Global Market: a retail, restaurant, and tea bar from Indigenous Food Labs. Like Owamni, for which Indigenous Food Labs does a lot of the prep work, everything here will be made with Indigenous ingredients – no chicken, pork, wheat, dairy, or anything that came from colonizing countries.
