JJ’s, the Charlotte-based, award-winning upscale Hot Dog and Sausage concept, is celebrating National Hot Dog Month by bringing back the most popular creations from each of its first four years. All were stars in JJ’s popular Dog of the Week program, which features specially designed and priced Hot Dogs beginning each Monday. The Hot Dogs, designated by the years in which they shined, will be priced at $4.99:

“We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our favorite month by bringing back our guests’ favorite Hot Dogs,”  said JJ’s proprietor Jonathan Luther. “We’ve created more than 200 Dogs of the Week featuring more than 300 toppings in the past four years but the combination of ingredients for these particular Hot Dogs seemed to resonate well with our guests. Lots of very classic flavors that remind me of old school American Summers. Heck, I might drink an ice cold beer right now!”

July is deemed National Hot Dog Month by the National Hot Dog Sausage Council, which says Americans will consume Hot Dogs in record numbers this summer. The Council estimates that more than seven billion Hot Dogs will be eaten by Americans between Memorial Day and Labor Day. During the July 4th weekend alone (the biggest Hot Dog holiday of the year), approximately 155 million will be eaten.

Appropriately, JJ’s celebrates its 4th anniversary on the biggest Hot Dog day of the year – July 4th – when it will feature an All-American Hot Dog, a virtual Fourth of July picnic on a premium Hot Dog, with Mustard, Relish and Onions, specially priced at $2 all day at both Charlotte locations – Dilworth and Ballantyne.

JJ's Red Hots Brings Back its Most Popular Dog of the Week Creations for National Hot Dog MonthJJ’s has been on an all-out winning streak since its inception in 2012. The brand raised national eyebrows for two years running by being honored by Fast Casual in its annual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list.  JJ’s is the smallest chain to ever to make the list and the only Hot Dog/Sausage concept to receive the honor. JJ’s also swept all of Charlotte’s Best Hot Dog awards in 2015 including the Charlotte Observer’s Readers’ Choice Best of Charlotte 2015 award for Best Hot Dog, And JJ’s ‘Char Heel’ dog won Charlotte Magazine’s BOB award for Best Southern Hot Dog. In addition to its world-class Hot Dogs, JJ’s is also famous for its hand-crafted artisanal sausages and house-made sides and toppings.

“It’s been a wild ride for the past four years and we’re just getting started,” said Brandy Newton, JJ’s director of marketing and brand development, “We’ve had a lot of fun while creating the world’s best Hot Dogs. We’ve very excited to bring back the best of the best.”

JJ’s Red Hots is the premier purveyor of “hand-crafted” char-grilled hot dogs and sausages with two locations and several portable vehicles in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The restaurant concept is built on solid, hardworking values and is modeled after venerable establishments like Ted’s in Buffalo, NY, Gene and Jude’s in Chicago, and many others. Still, JJ’s is a true American original featuring house-made, scratch prepared sides and toppings served alongside time tested, revered American brands like Weber’s Mustard, Martin’s Rolls, and Coca-Cola. Perhaps most proudly, JJ’s Red Hots serves smokehouse hot dogs from Sahlen’s Meat Packing Company in Buffalo, NY. Sahlen’s is a 146-year-old company that remains family owned and operated, and makes, in our opinion, the best hot dogs in the world.
