Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria Launches Limited-Edition Italian Combo Beef-Za for Italian Beef Month
Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria has introduced the Italian Combo Beef-Za, a new creation that combines Chicago’s most famous sandwich with its most legendary pizza. Available through May 31 in celebration of Italian Beef Month, this limited-time menu item features Italian beef, sausage, and giardiniera atop the brand’s signature Buttercrust. The recipe was inspired by Chicago-based chef and Food Network personality Jeff Mauro, who is widely known as the “Sandwich King”.
Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria Partners with Chef Jeff Mauro for Authentic Flavor
The Italian Combo Beef-Za utilizes premium ingredients from Mauro Provisions to ensure an authentic taste profile. Key components of the new pizza include:
-
Certified Angus Beef: The pizza features Mauro Provisions Italian Beef produced exclusively with high-quality Certified Angus Beef.
-
Honey G Pepper Relish: This topping is made with finely diced Mauro Provisions Medium Craft Giardiniera and Grade A honey, providing a balance of sweet heat and crunch.
-
Signature Foundations: These specialty toppings are layered over vine-ripened tomatoes, Wisconsin mozzarella, and the exclusive Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria sausage blend.
“Italian beef and deep dish are central to Chicago’s food culture,” stated Marc Malnati, owner of Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria. “For Italian Beef Month, we wanted to find a way to bring those classics together, and partnering with Mauro helped us do that in a way that feels true to both”.
“Lou Malnati’s has been perfecting their deep dish game for generations, and my family and I have been eating it since we were kids,” Mauro said. “This pizza keeps the heart of what makes the sandwich special while giving people a whole new way to enjoy it, and it’s all on top of the best deep dish in the game”.
Guests can enjoy the Italian Combo Beef-Za in various formats, including deep dish, thin crust, and small gluten-free deep dish. The pizza is available for dine-in, delivery, and carryout at all 70 locations across Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Arizona through the end of May.
