Regional Restaurant Brand Will Raise Funds for Local Food Banks Through Several Fundraisers During Hunger Action Month
With food insecurity rates continuing to rise steadily across the country, Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que is taking action against hunger throughout the month of September by raising funds for several local food banks in the communities it serves. Based in Signal Hill, California, Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que is a family-owned restaurant brand featuring an authentic, award-winning Southern-inspired menu at 21 restaurants in California, Nevada and Arizona.
Over the past two years, Lucille’s has raised more than $13,000 for local food banks through a one-day “Day of Giving” fundraiser at each of its restaurants. This year, the fundraiser will be extended to the entire month of September to increase its support for Hunger Action Month, which was created by Feeding America, a national nonprofit with a mission to advance change in America by ensuring equitable access to nutritious food for all.

This September, Lucille’s will donate $1 to local food banks for every Pumpkin Crunch Pudding ordered and will also work with Round It Up America to encourage guests to round up their checks online and in its restaurants to benefit the food banks.
What’s more, on Wednesday, September 20, which Lucille’s has designated as this year’s “Day of Giving,” all dine-in guests will receive a $10 bounceback coupon when they purchase a special Chicken Shack Plate with 100% of proceeds going to local food banks. The Chicken Shack Plate, available only for dine-in guests on September 20, includes two pieces of Lucille’s famous Fried Chicken, Texas Caviar, Pumpkin Crunch Pudding and Lucille’s Sidewalk Lemonade for $8.99.
On September 20, Lucille’s will also bring the “Lucille’s Chicken Shack” food truck to its restaurant in Tustin, California, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests will be able to order the Chicken Shack Plate, enjoy live music and spin to win prizes, including free Lucille’s merchandise, Lucille’s popular BBQ sauce, gift cards and more.
