What has live circus acts, grand prize giveaways, drink specials, live DJ entertainment, authentic Mexican cuisine, and more? The Valley’s biggest and most over-the-top Cinco de Mayo at Barrio Queen! The epic two-day celebration – called Cinco de Carnival – will be celebrated at every one of the Valley’s seven Barrio Queen locations on both Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6.
To get the party going, DJ Veto will be playing electrifying music on Friday from 4-10 p.m. and Saturday from 5-9 p.m. at all Barrio Queen locations. On Friday, attendees can meet and take pictures with a living catrina doll at Desert Ridge from 5-6:30 p.m. and at Tempe from 7-8:30 p.m.
Upping the excitement are circus act performances from fire eaters at Desert Ridge Marketplace from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; Tempe, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Glendale, Avondale from 7-9 p.m.; and Scottsdale from 8:30-9:30 p.m.
Drink specials abound across a variety of cocktails, beers, and tequilas. These include such favorites as the El Jefe (JaJa Blanco Tequila, El Silencio Mezcal, pineapple juice, lemon juice, cinnamon syrup, garnished with a lemon wheel, salt, and pineapple frond) for $13 and the TPC “The Perfect Cocktail (El Bandido Yankee Blanco Tequila, pomegranate juice, agua fresca, lime juice, agave nectar, Ancho Reyes, garnished with black salt, tajin, lime wheel, Chile de Arbol, and hibiscus flower) for $13, the Sonoran Old Fashion (21 Seeds Grapefruit Hibiscus Tequila, Aguamiel Bacanora, Agave Nectar, local grapefruit hibiscus bitters, garnished with a grapefruit twist) for $14, a cerveza pitcher for $20, and a Don Julio Flight (blanco, reposado, añejo) for $20.
