New Restaurant Will Give Diners a Taste of Darkness

Not much tickles the notoriously tough members of Community Board 3’s licensing committee.

But the members seemed genuinely intrigued by a new dark dining French chain slated to come to their neck of the woods. Or maybe they were just charmed by the Parisian accents.

Dans Le Noir? — literally “in the dark” in French — brings dark dining to a new level. Diners eat in pitch black unable to see each other or their waiters and unaware of their exact menu.

And just how are they served in such darkness? Why by blind waiters, of course. Yes. legally blind.
